I guess Tannehill is out against Pitt.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18412570/ryan-tannehill-miami-dolphins-ruled-pittsburgh-steelers-matt-moore-startI didn't even think there was a possibility Tennehill could come back in time.
In other news, Pagano is coming back to Indy. With Tennessee and Houston actually playing well (sort of) lately, 2017 has to be a win or your fired year.
I also realized why I want the Lions to defeat Seattle (other than the Lions could use the playoff win, and I hate the Seahawks). If the Packers and both Lions win, the Lions will go to Dallas on Sunday, and the Packers will go to Atlanta on Saturday (Atlanta is definitely a worse team than Dallas - their defense is awful). Not to get ahead of myself, the Packers do have a tough game they have to win first this weekend against the Giants, but if Seattle and the Packers win this weekend, the Packers will go to Dallas (where I think we can win) but I have Sunshine Music Fest-Boca tickets that day! Leave it to a Jaguars fan to schedule a music fest on an NFL playoff day in January when his team will absolutely be home on the couch!
Yeah, really not to surprised by that move. I was expecting just
about anything and everything with Irsay. I do agree it will be a very
short lease next season, do or die time.
Great pic by the way of the Packers and Giants up above ,very cool

Title took a lot of abuse over the years. Famous picture of his head bleeding I think after a Steelers game his final season
With the Lions out I guess I'm pulling for Atlanta.
Found this stat.
In his third playoff start, Matthew Stafford set Lions records for career postseason passing yards and completions. He entered the game needing 136 yards and 17 completions to break Erik Kramer's club records. Of course, it helps that he's one of just three quarterbacks to start three playoff games for Detroit.

I really thought that if the Lions could get to Wilson, they had a really good chance. It looked that way early, but then Seattle adjusted and ran the ball down Detroit's throat and the Lions couldn't stop it. Had the Lions been able to move the ball downfield, they would have been ok, but their passing game looked uncharacteristically beyond out of sync. Otherwise, they had a really good chance last night, in spite of seemingly playing against the refs as well.
Oh, and apparently there was an AFC game. The Texans will be the sacrifice next week, and the Raiders have been sent home.

LOL , If Seattle didn't have their typical slow start it would have been a bigger blow out .
Snoozers this weekend for the most part. Packers v Giants game was decent , but other than that, nothing.

I believe it was mentioned that it was the first time in 35 years that the first round games were all blowouts , very disappointing for sure ,

I guess it goes to show that how important a QB is.
Tannehill out
Oakland out it's first and 2nd string
Texans-Oswelier, but played decent this weekend.
Stafford playing injured.

If the refs called a face mask on Seattle's 1st TD maybe the Lions stop them from scoring.
Detroit did set an NFL record for most playoff loses in a row. That's one thing the franchise is good at.
Pretty amazing how many successful Hail Mary's Rodgers has.

Well, I thought it was a pretty awesome game. Up until the 3rd quarter it was a pretty nice defensive battle. Green Bay got some separation with the hail mary before the half, and NYG made a game out of it after GB failed on the 4th and short call, which was kind of bone-headed, but no one cares since the Packers rolled after that.
Considering 3 of the 8 wild card weekend teams were down starting QBs, it's not too surprising the rest of the games were skippable. Next week should be a little more interesting.
Seattle @Atlanta
No one is scared of Atlanta. Their defense is awful. Matt Ryan is just an ok QB. Their offense put up some big numbers this season in close, high scoring games. They are 2-2 against teams that made the playoffs, with close scores of 35-28, 26-24, 33-32, 29-28. They are 5-1 against a horrible NFC South. Seattle might not be the titan they were a couple of years ago, but no one is afraid to go into the Georgia Dome. The Falcons might put up some points, but I think Seattle can handle them.
SEA
Houston @New England
Pats. Duh.
NE
Pittsburgh @KC
Houston might have gotten a playoff win thanks to Derek Carr's season-ending injury, but no team benefited more than KC, who were able to leap from their division rival (whom they also swept) for the West crown and a bye. But Andy Reid is their coach, and they lost to the 2 other playoff teams they played (Pittsburgh, Houston). Plus the Steelers are rolling right now.
PITT
Green Bay @Dallas
Dallas has had a great season thus far, and Dak Prescott is clearly the QB of the future for them. They are 2-3 against playoff teams, those 2 wins coming from the Giants (one on opening day). Dallas already defeated an out of sync Packers team earlier in the year. If Dallas gets out ahead early, it will be tough for Green Bay to climb back (they've been getting off to slow starts, especially with their depleted secondary). But last night's second half was some serious momentum, and rookie QBs make mistakes in post-season. I say Go Pack Go.
GB
Onward!
Cowboys
Seahawks
Patriots
Steelers
The Chargers are moving to LA, it's official. Sounds like they didn't have much choice, financially speaking.
I was happy that the Rams moved back to LA, it's where they belong, but I'd rather the Chargers stay in San Diego. I think it's better when there are more markets rather than doubling up franchises. LA isn't too far away from San Diego and they got their start there, but it's a bit like the Chiefs moving back to Dallas, especially with the Chargers' division rival, the Raiders, already claiming a lot of fans from their time in LA.
They will play in a 30,000 seat stadium in Carson - might be a fun (or utterly depressing) opportunity to watch an NFL game.
This whole moving around trend is somewhat odd but let's face it, this has happened forever. In all sports. Look at hockey.

I wouldn't say it's a trend. If anything, it happens less often these days. Most cities don't want to lose their sports franchises to another city (or the suburbs). Almost every early NFL and NBA franchise has moved at some point.

Atlanta pulled it off yesterday. I knew Seattle has been as good this year, but I figured if their offense could get going against a weak Atlanta defense they'd be in good shape. Still not sold on Atlanta as a dangerous team, but won't shed a tear for Seattle bowing out.
Oh, and the Patriots had a 2nd round bye last night. Can something be done about the AFC South please?
6 games down, no playoff game has been closer than 13 points so far. Average margin of victory to date in the playoff games is just over 18 points.
Yesterday's New England 16 pt spread vs Houston is tied for 3rd highest post season spread ever!
Watching the Packers and Cowboys game. Aaron Rodgers will go down as one of the greatest no doubt, but I have never seen a passing qb better than him. He might be the best I have ever seen.

I agree. It doesn't hurt that he has had some amazing receivers. I always marveled that Favre did what he did without a great wide receiver - after Sterling Sharpe went down in 1994 Favre never had any exceptional targets, except that Super Bowl year when they had Don Beebe, Andre Rison, and Keith Jackson. Rodgers has a whole toolbox full of quality receivers right now.
The Packers haven't had a big receiver tight end since Chmura and Keith Jackson back in the mid-1990s. Jared Cook has mad such a huge difference the second half of this season, he might be the Packers' MVP. That footwork on the sideline was nuts for a big guy like him.
But dang, what a game. Really happy to see Green Bay take the air out of Dallas' stadium. Boys will be boys. The lone Cowboys fan at the bar we were at actually got asked to leave because he was drunk and swearing at the TV so much (f-bombs after every play), he missed the final 2 minutes.
So we are down to 4 teams, and it just so happens, the 4 best Quarterbacks in the league right now: Rodgers, Brady, Roethlessberger, Ryan. If the Packers defeat Atlanta, it will either be a rematch of Super Bowl 45 or Super Bowl 31.
New England-Pittsburgh (PITT)
If any team in the AFC can defeat the Patriots, it's the Steelers. The Pats defeated the Steelers in the regular season, but I think Roethlessberger was out. They are on a roll right now. A lot has been made about Aaron Rodgers' "run the table" comment and the Packers' 6-game win streak, but the Steelers ended the season with a 7-game win streak after starting out 4-5.
Atlanta-Green Bay (GB)
The Falcons defeated the Packers by 1 point during the regular season a few months ago. Both Atlanta's defense and Green Bay's offense have improved since that game. Green Bay torched the Falcons in Atlanta in 2010 on their way to the Super Bowl, I think they can do it again. Aaron Rodgers looks possessed right now. Matt Ryan is playing as well as he ever has, and they surprised me against Seattle, but Green Bay is playing much better than Seattle has. Should be a good one.

porkchopbob - are you a Packers fan? If so, congrats. Speaking as a die hard Cowboys fan...and as one who did not utter a single f-bomb during the entire game (although there may have been a few other choice words used at times)...hats off to Aaron and the Packers. Incredible run that the Packers are on, and I agree with all the praise being heaped upon Rodgers.
