There is always the possibility of a simple exchange of ideas and tolerating those that differ from yours....
Would you offer this to Kaepernick?
and there is allowing it to descend to name calling. There is no confusing where you stand.
Correct. Political Correctness is weak and stupid.
When Trump does "it" his fans applaud. When Kaepernick or Kathy Griffin does it, Trump fans have a cow.
When Trump does "it" his detractors scream. When Kaepernick or Kathy Griffin does it the left applauds.
Look at how easily the opposite is just as true.

Would I offer what? An exchange of ideas? Probably not. We disagree and in all probability neither of us is going to change the others mind.
I understand what Colin is trying to accomplish and believe he is within his rights to demonstrate any way he chooses. Where I have "an issue" is his choice of platforms. Not why I tune into Pro Sports. Be you Black, orange red or white, I don't care. Please, keep politics away from the Professional game.

Once you play the National Anthem at any event, there is a level of politics involved.
Would I offer what? An exchange of ideas?
No. Would you offer tolerance of his protest. I remember you being enraged and insisting he “disrespected the flag”. Doesn’t sound tolerant to me.

Yes, peaceful kneeling to stop the murder of unarmed black people is EXACTLY the same as mocking the disabled, obsessive name-calling tweets, urging violence, asking Russia to hack American emails, attacking POWs, and posting pics of severed heads.
posting pics of severed heads
Must have missed that, sounds pretty rough.
That was what Kathy Griffin did, posted a pic of herself holding Trump’s severed head.
That's right, yeah forgot. That went straight into my "i-dont-give-a-sh*t " memory shredder.
What if the kid got into his mom's wine cabinet and downed some juice, got behind the wheel of a car, and killed several in a wreck? Do you send the mom to jail for owning the wine? Just trying to understand the logic in this argument.
It's not easy to sort out. At some point it is fair to bust the parents for criminal neglect. Case by case, this is what judges are for.

Maybe, but that is for another thread. If you own a gun, you must keep it secured. If you don't, you are not a responsible gun owner...period. If you are not prepared to handle the responsibility of being a gun owner, you should not own guns. Simple...keep your guns secured. The only exception I would allow for a parent not to be held responsible would be if a child somehow broke into a gun safe using brut force (and I'm not talking about just stealing a highly accessible key). Other than that, I'm not prepared to show you any sympathy. If this responsibility scares you, then don't own guns.
Ok, so there is zero tolerance for legal gun owners. Now, tell me what you feel is the appropriate sentence for being caught with an illegal firearm, or commiting a crime with an illegal firearm, anything from possession, simple robbery, to drive-bys and cartel and gang members? You will have to convince Chuck Schummeir that the MS-13 gang member is still worth a tough sentence for these crimes, as Chuck and Nancy have publicly stated that not all MS-13 gang members are bad hombres.
Surely you can be as cut-and-dry with your rationale.

I believe in zero tolerance for illegal guns, regardless of who they belong to. Not sure why you would feel that I would think otherwise. If somebody uses a gun in a crime, they would not want me sitting on their jury.

If people have NRA training their guns would be properly locked up.
How many criminals who use guns have had NRA training?
NRA training in what, being an idiotic, self-entitled, d!ckhead? Because that's what I see the NRA leadership conduct themselves as...............Peace..........joe
NRA gun owners are not a bunch of wild eyed pistol wavers. They may be a little overly enthusiastic about their weapons and the weapons capabilities but they are still responsible.
This week's shooter was/is 13
But it's a gun problem
Yes, it is. Where does a 13 year old get 2 pistols to take to school? Availability.

Parental guidance?...When does this enter into the conversation?
What would your Parents have done to you upon hearing you were anywhere near a gun at 13?

This is the whole point of this conversation we'be been having. Those parents are not responsible gun owners. Off to jail they should go for a long, long, long time. Your gun gets used in a crime, then you a part of the crime.

Does your limited brain capacity really prevent you from understanding that it's a combination of many things? What a stupid comment.

There were many 13 year olds there. The only one who injured anybody had a gun.
But I guess this is too complex for you to understand.

Maybe he thinks the problem is that there wasn't a good 13 year old with a gun there to stop him.

Exactly.
The parents are fully responsible here on two counts, not securing the gun and raising a child who thinks this type of behavior is acceptable.

Once again, see things differently than you and the name calling begins
"Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views."
William F. Buckley

So sorry. I’ll be politically correct in the future. BIGV, i found your comment to lack intelligence. Why can you not understand that it’s a combination of many things? Please discuss.

Don’t apologize for being a child, I understand.
So you are only politically correct when it suits you? I’ll give you this, you are consistent!
LOL

Does anyone understand what BIGV means here? If so, please translate...I'm dying to know his point. I have never been a fan of PC rules. I have never tried to be PC in my posts. You seem to hate it too, but then need others to use it when speaking to you, then name-call me like jkeller points out.....you sound like one confused dude. At any rate, your point on this 13-year old story doesn't make any sense at all, and it surprises me that you can't understand that it's about more than one thing only. To see it as one thing or another is incredibly narrowminded, IMO. Let me guess, because I am criticizing you for having a different opinion on gun control, that makes me a liberal, according to that Buckley guy?

“IMO” Exactly.
You and I could not Be anymore different and am content with that.
That being said and let me be clear, this is my opinion....any 13 year (minor) old who obtains a fireman with the intent of harming others has been reared poorly and that is on the Parents, they are responsible, period. Disagree all you want, deaf ears here.
