Regarding the Steelers of the 70's, that is also when my older brother and I were growing up. He was a Steelers fan so of course I had to hate them. I was a Vikings fan. Fran Tarkenton was my favorite player (I sure wish I had my Tark jersey).
I came around a bit and admired Jack Lambert a lot. He wasn't dirty but man was he tough. And of all things that ended his career, it was turf toe.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

I've always been a Pats fan but back then, I really admired the heck out of the steelers. The defense especially. I think though the one team I really pulled for in one season was the bills when they were in their 4th SB. Man, I wanted Kelly to win that one...

I'm an ND fan too. Big time.
my dad played there (with 3 Heisman winners)
Patriots, ND.
I'm a pariah... 😛

My good buddy's dad played at Ohio State (and I am a Michigan fan). He also played in the NFL for the Chicago Cardinals so this goes back a long time. Some of the stories my friend tells me are very interesting.

yeah. the leather helmets with no face mask. and back then, there were no rules against decapitating people... 😛
btw, after my dad graduated, went to WWII. Came back, did his graduate work at...Michigan State.
sorry man...

I'm Cowboys silver and blue through and through, but I also came to admire those Steeler teams, even when they took my Boys down. They were so tough!
The Bills have to be one of the hardest luck teams in the NFL....I almost felt sorry for them when they lost that 4th SB.
Almost.

the steelers, cowboys, bills, lions have received their due in this thread.
Enough!
Patriots!!!

I agree. Enough about the freakin' Patsies, they are last year's news. Training camp starts next month. Prepare yourselves for the glorious return to a new era of America's Team!

If the Patriots were a tax form and the NFL was the IRS...

A champion by any other name is still a champion.
