Things happen and stuff is said during a battle but when you can't even show some class during a victory parade that speaks volume about a player or players , so sad .
Bingo! The Patriots fans are a reflection of the totally classless team, led by the cheating coach an quarterback. They won the Super Bowl, but lack the class that champions should show.
My goodness girls, let it go. Tell me which pro sports franchises or their fans are morally superior to any other. Please.
Ah, yes. The equivalence excuses all behavior view. I love that one.

My statement is not meant to excuse anyone's behavior. Its meant to quell this idea that any sports franchise or its fans are morally superior to any other.
Hey man, if everyone's guilty, no one's guilty.

There is a strong sentiment amongst Patriot fans here and elsewhere that everyone hates them "because you are all just jealous." Now, once we get past the sixth grade, this response has limited impact.
I, personally, have had many run-ins and discussions with Patriot fans and Boston fans in general, in bars, at ballparks and at stadiums. In my own experience, no other fanbase I've come across loves rubbing how awesome they are in other people's faces as much as they can. And, hey, if that's how they roll, cool. They can get on with their bad-a$$ selves. I can't reiterate that enough. I and anyone else have no right to tell others how they should conduct themselves, outside of my child. They can rant and rave and brag and bag until the end of time, more power to them.
However...I don't think it should be so difficult for Patriot fans to grasp that the reason that the lowlife loser fans in other lesser cities that they bag on so much might not care for them in return for reasons far beyond winning and losing.

Maybe in your eyes. For me, if everyone's guilty, everyone is guilty. I used to hear the exact same things against Cowboy fans 20 years ago. I've said the same things about Steelers' fans, 49er fans, the list goes on. Whatever. Congrats to the Pats for being such a dominant franchise for so long. Incredibly difficult to do in this era. I hope they go 0-16 next year.
COWBOYS!!!!!!

Bingo! Doug nailed it. Well, except for that 0-16 part at the end. 😛
who cares what MacKenzie has to say? He's a Cowboys fan. They don't matter. 😛
I gotta say this though...he and 'hawk do in fact make more sense than just about anyone on the board.
why they aren't Patriots fans is beyond me...

NORWOOD, Mass. -- Super Bowl hero Malcolm Butler smiled to the cameras and reached out his hands to mimic an interception in front of the new red Chevrolet Colorado truck he received Tuesday.
It was a lighthearted moment as Butler happily took ownership of the truck thanks to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's generosity.
Brady, as the MVP of Super Bowl XLIX, was supposed to drive away with the truck. But Brady asked Chevrolet if Butler could have the vehicle instead, and the official presentation took place Tuesday about eight miles north of the team's home stadium at a car dealership.
"Tom is a great guy for doing that," Butler said. "We had a meeting, and he was just like 'Congratulations on the big play. You can get the keys to that truck.' ... I couldn't have done all that without my teammates, so I'm just thankful to have the truck."
Butler was asked if he's a "truck guy." He sparked laughter among the assembled media when he replied, "I think I am now."
An undrafted free agent from West Alabama, Butler has had a whirlwind nine days since the Super Bowl, a stretch that has included attending the Grammys.
"I'm enjoying the moment," he said. "Words can't explain how my life has changed and how good things have been happening to me. I'm very overwhelmed."
He was asked how he plans to keep himself motivated in the future.
"I just don't want one play to describe me as a player," he said. "I have more to prove. Just stay humble about it. I have to get back to work soon to get ready for this season. I don't have much time for playing."
Taking the truck won't come free to Butler. If he makes the Patriots next year, he will be in the top tax bracket and will pay more than $15,000 in federal and state income tax on the truck, according to Robert Raiola, an accountant who specializes in sports tax management at O'Connor Davies in New Jersey. That's based on the truck's fully loaded retail value of about $35,000.
A GM spokesman told ESPN.com that the company wasn't giving Butler anything additional to ease his tax liability.

WTF ?
Can anyone explain this? $15k taxes on a value of $35k ?

The retail price of the Vehicle counts as earned income as far as the Tax collectors are concerned.
Butler earned $510K this past season. he falls in the 39.6% tax bracket which means he pays $13,860.00 in Federal income tax on the vehicle. Mass has a 5.15% state income tax rate so he pays $1802.50 in State tax. Add them up and he has to pay $15662.50 in total tax on the vehicle.

I'm really glad for the kid. He's a good guy.
Made the greatest play in SB history.
How cool is that?
funny thing is, if the mighty Patriots re-sign Revis and McCourty, the kid is on the bubble, with Chung, Arrington, Browner, Ryan et al back there. Hope he makes it back. He should.

I actually was cheering for the Pats.
Felt a little dirty 😛

Piacere is still bumping this? Seriously? I think the world has moved on to more important matters. 😛 😛 😛 😛

Wharfy, how did you let this get by you? Anyone remember Santonio Holmes in 2009?
That's just one that comes to mind...

Brendan

no worries brother, I'll be extending the life of this thread until September.
you all think I'll forget the two weeks leading up to the SB? Not quite.
a game-saving interception at the goal line with seconds left in this Pats fans eyes goes down as Numero Uno, amigo.
see ya when we play Philly. Bring a lunch.

I don't think it is insane to say that. It is a topic that is worthy of debate for sure, but insane? Absolutely not. The Butler play is definitely in the conversation, along with some others including the one you mentioned, no doubt about it. I even heard Mike Lupica on the radio this morning say it was the greatest single defensive play in the history of the NFL, based on the play itself combined with the teams, the game, this timing within the game, the history trying to be made (Seahawks trying for back-to-back, Patriots trying for #4), etc.

What about that play where the dude caught the ball against his helmet for the Giants. Now that was a great play!
