L.A. needs a football team.

still lovin' it...
PATRIOTS !!!
Things happen and stuff is said during a battle but when you can't even show some class during a victory parade that speaks volume about a player or players , so sad .

Bingo! The Patriots fans are a reflection of the totally classless team, led by the cheating coach an quarterback. They won the Super Bowl, but lack the class that champions should show.

The New England Patriots have more class than all the other NFL teams combined. That is a fact an no amount of jealousy will change it.

Dallas. And we were oe out away from having won it all in all 4.

it's hate fueled by jealousy and envy.
part of the deal.
no matter...Patriots are champions, time to look at '15.
...and TB12 wins another one near his hometown.
how cool is that going to be?

"So sad"? Really man? I mean, really?
Sad is a homeless man or woman, sad is hungry or starving children, sick and dying babies. Sad is a mother unable to feed her children, sad is families fleeing for their lives from war, genocide or psychotic governments, sad is a terrorist blowing up a place where innocent people are buying a piece of meat.
the Patriots parade was a bunch of young men (btw, youngest average age in the league, football fans 😉 ) parading through narrowed streets due to the pummeling that town has taken this winter, letting it all out after 7,8 months of grinding it out and achieving the goal, despite the two weeks leading up to the SB.
"So sad"? gimme a break.
you want to see "sad"? Watch the news, not parades.

The New England Patriots have more class than all the other NFL teams combined. That is a fact an no amount of jealousy will change it.
Right. Spygate and Deflategate were invented by jealous teams, fans and sportswriters. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

not necessarily invented and I'm not making any excuses but Mangini knew everyone in the league was doing it,he did it while with the Pats, Pats did it in front of 70,000 people because they knew everyone was doing it and when Bill handed Mangini his lunch after the Jets game, he (Mangini) ratted the Pats out. Same thing with the Colts GM. His team is getting annihilated and he's calling the league at halftime about footballs.
everybody cheats to a degree. The greatest receiver of all time (so some say) used stickum. Yeah, he had great hands 😉
but yeah, I guess winning four SB's isn't worth looking at. It's deflated balls.

this thread will not see page 2 from now until September...6 1/2 months of bliss...
Enjoy!

Spygate was real but was (and continues to be) waaay overblown, and delfategate is absolutely an invention, although not sure if it was invented by the Colts by the media, probably both. Can't wait for the NFL's report. And still, the Pats continue to show more class than most other NFL teams combined.

My statement is not meant to excuse anyone's behavior. Its meant to quell this idea that any sports franchise or its fans are morally superior to any other.

Hey man, if everyone's guilty, no one's guilty.
There is a strong sentiment amongst Patriot fans here and elsewhere that everyone hates them "because you are all just jealous." Now, once we get past the sixth grade, this response has limited impact.
I, personally, have had many run-ins and discussions with Patriot fans and Boston fans in general, in bars, at ballparks and at stadiums. In my own experience, no other fanbase I've come across loves rubbing how awesome they are in other people's faces as much as they can. And, hey, if that's how they roll, cool. They can get on with their bad-a$$ selves. I can't reiterate that enough. I and anyone else have no right to tell others how they should conduct themselves, outside of my child. They can rant and rave and brag and bag until the end of time, more power to them.
However...I don't think it should be so difficult for Patriot fans to grasp that the reason that the lowlife loser fans in other lesser cities that they bag on so much might not care for them in return for reasons far beyond winning and losing.

Maybe in your eyes. For me, if everyone's guilty, everyone is guilty. I used to hear the exact same things against Cowboy fans 20 years ago. I've said the same things about Steelers' fans, 49er fans, the list goes on. Whatever. Congrats to the Pats for being such a dominant franchise for so long. Incredibly difficult to do in this era. I hope they go 0-16 next year.

I was speaking from my own personal experiences, which of course are going to be different. I was around a lot of Cowboy fans in the early 90s. I've known Steeler fans from PA my whole life. I know alot of Denver fans and the Chiefs-Broncos relationship is far from friendly. So far, no one else comes close to Boston fans.
Oh well, means nothing anyway.

Ok, I guess I wasn't taking into account that your "love" (sarcastic) of that excuse had such a narrow scope.
So whether you consider it cheating or not, does that mean you give Jerry Rice a pass on using that excuse to justify his use of stickum?

Hmmm. A "pass?"
First of all, I said from the day after the AFC Championship that I had no issue with the Patriots messing with the PSI of the balls, whether they did it or not. Those balls could have been filled with helium and remote controlled and the Colts still would have gotten destroyed. I have thrown a football, but I am not and never will be a NFL caliber quarterback or receiver. I have no idea how much the inflation would help or hurt, and again, in this case, I don't think it would have mattered.
Sports teams have been bending the rules as long as there have been sports. I have no idea how much stickum Jerry Rice used or didn't use or how much impact it may or may not have had on his career performance. If it is true it is disappointing, sure. Was he throwing stones from a glass house? Very well could have been. I honestly don't know. When I got up this morning I wasn't planning on being called out to defend the legacy of Jerry Rice. When I typed that response to Doug, I can guarantee you that I wasn't thinking of Jerry Rice at the time, as I was thinking in terms of fans and fanbases...no more, no less.
If you want to go back and call into question the legacies of others in response to the massive injustice done to the infallible and glorious Patriots, don't let me get in the way by any means. When you finally get done with all of the guys that used stickum, steroids, corked bats, vaseline under the cap, sandpaper on the ball, stole a signal, timed a pitch, filled a football with a substance other than oxygen, flopped to get a foul called, shaved a point, used pine tar in various places, perfected holding to an art and fibbed on their scorecard, let me know.
