My Lions score 38 and lose by two touchdowns. They've been finding new ways to lose my entire life.
They, the Bears (good win for them today actually) and the Browns have to be the worst run teams in sports.
The Lions have won exactly ONE playoff game since I think 1957 or something. My entire life they've won only once. And I didn't even get to watch their win. I was at work on a Sunday evening.

That Detroit - New Orleans game was certainly bizzare. Lots of strange stuff.
Trying to remember the Lions playoff games. I remember they lost at RFK in a game and everyone was throwing their seat cushions. The playoff game they won must've been at home. Was it Wayne Foutes or Bobby Ross the coach. Scott Mitchell must've been the QB?
I really enjoyed the old days of NFL. There is just something romantic about it. Even just 20 years ago, I feel the nostalgia.
How about YA Title just dying. Man, I used to love watching NFL films of him. He looked so old when he was playing. Just a different era.

I have managed to pick every game in the spread pool wrong so far............ 😮

That is always crazy. Like if you tried to pick all losers, you couldn't. Maybe you did better in nascar...or not!

I was wrong. Detroit destroyed the Cowboys at home at the Silverdome in 1991 I think. Then I think they went to Washington and got killed by the Redskins in the NFC Championship game. Didn't look it up but I think that was it.

Could be. I distinctly remember the Lions game at RFK. Lions beating Cowboys one year before their SB sounds right.
Teams come up. You see it coming sometimes. You could see that Dallas team building and coming. Good era of football.

They definitely beat the Cowboys (I remember the silver-blue battle) before losing to the Redskins in 1991. I think it was Rodney Peete at QB. I also remember Favre's last second heave to Sterling Sharpe in 1993, and holding Sanders to -1 yards rushing in 1994.
Looks like Rodgers is done for the year, since it's his throwing arm. He came back to take the division (thanks to a very weak division) in 2013 on the final game of the season, but that will be really tough this year. Hundley might get more comfortable and surprise people, there's got to be a reason McCarthy has kept him around for 3 seasons after having no solid backup in 2013. This season just got more interesting...

I feel bad about Rogers. I feel bad because of how much time and work that we;ll never know about that goes into a team and the Packers are toast now. That sucks. I feel bad because Rogers is such a terrific player and I feel bad selfishly that I won;t get to see him perform and also feel bad that Packer fans will not be able to enjoy him leading their team.
With that said, there was nothing wrong with the hit. I feel 100% fine with the hit. Could the D player have laid off? Yes. Is it his job to lay off or knock the QB down legally? Knock the QB down. It is a rough game. Shit happens. Clean play.

Yeah, hit was totally legal. Rodgers just came down all wrong. As soon as he came down palm-to-shoulder into the dirt, I thought it was his collar bone. Looked just like 2013 all over, and I've broken my collar bone before. All looked too familiar.

Felt like the Fox crew was over analyzing the hit way too much. I get who Rodgers is and what it means. They were playing up the Rodgers wasn't happy with the hit angle. Didn't like that. Rodgers can not like it, doesn't mean they have to keep discussing the legality of it.
Funny thing is how poor back up QBs are in the NFL. NE has a good one. Not sure how good Fitzpatrick is still and I forget where he is, Tampa? Denver, they have their old guy back and are probably pretty happy to have him right now. For a while, few years ago, Shawn Hill was pretty good. But it just amazes me how all these teams have these 2nd string QBs then the starter gets hurt and they scramble..we need to sign somebody. Steelers come to mind. They've never trusted Landry Jones. If you can't trust your backup QB being one snap away from leading your team get a and develop a new back up. Think KC is on the right track there.

I separated my collar bone twice. Once was jumping over a camp fire. Once was running from security at a Carlos Santana concert after trying to maintain a nice little warming fire. But it was my nonthrowing shoulder. 😉

Patriots were lucky to beat the Jets yesterday. It was a bad call on the called back TD. I don't know how they could have overturned that.
The defense still has a lot of improving to do. They made some big plays, but they're not close to being a championship defense.
The offense was not sharp yesterday. Did enough to win.
The Rogers hit was clean. It's too bad for him, his team, and the NFL. He's a great player and competitor. A loss for the NFL.

As soon as I saw the play I thought he broke his shoulder. I have done that. Still can't raise one of my arms. I would have preferred to have broken my collarbone. Heals better.
But the play itself wasn't dirty. When you have a 250-300 pound guy land on you, well that can happen.
Unfortunately that is football.

The jets got screwed. 😮
pops, by the letter of the law they didn't. It seems like they did but the rule is the rule. I think the sticky point was whether or not he had the ball when he went out of bounds.
Odd rule. Sucks for a Jets fan.

Yeah that stinks for the Packers, but this is football. Injuries happen to the best of them.
The Pitt KC game was good. Steelers made the plays when needed.
I thought Austin Seferian-Jenkins regained control of the ball from what I saw on one of the angles.

I didn't really notice that, but Troy and Joe Buck are pretty terrible announcers, and FOX had their backup Joe Buck starting yesterday. Local announcers typically know the teams better so they have more topics to talk about in greater detail. So when the biggest player in the game goes down, it's not surprising that they will focus on that. It's even worse in baseball, you get the local announcers throughout the season, and then you get a jobber like Matt Vasgersian in the playoffs fixating on one topic or regurgitating stats that are fed into his headset.

I'm a Patriots fan, and that was a bad call.

Patriots got the Falcons Sunday night. Big test for both teams. I wish the Falcons won last week, but they let Miami come back and beat them. Must have brought back Super Bowl memories.
Anybody have any thoughts on who i are the best teams in each conference. Before Rogers got injured, I thought the Packers were going to be there. Not now. The Chiefs have come down to earth. Patriots,, Don't look like a championship team as of now. Doesn't seem to be any great teams this year.

It's a good question. Some may not like the lack of clear-cut front runners, but I like it. Think it makes for some really interesting games. Hard to put your finger on who is going to emerge atop each division, which is fine with me - although different from how we normally look at the league after 6 games.
I do think Kansas City is still very strong. And Philly.

Since I picked KC I knew what the outcome would be...... 😛

No one from Vince Lombardi and George Halas to Don Shula or Bill Belichick could coach the Browns to a win -- now there's no Joe Thomas
....still, if they go into their bye week winless, gotta feeling Hue Jackson will be let go -- it'd be blatantly unfair, but...

Same here. It makes the whole season a little more interesting. Typically the teams that jump out to 5-0 starts burn out by week 10 (see every other Vikings season). Teams that go down 0-2 and stay calm can easily get back in it.
I still won't trust KC to go far, it's still Andy Reid.
And I may be an optimist, but I still think Green Bay has a chance to at least makes the playoffs. They were ahead most of the game on Sunday with a QB that threw well under 100 yards. That's promising, especially if Hundley gets in rhythm with Nelson and Cobb down field. Aaron Rodgers didn't light the world on fire his first few snaps either.

Eagles 6-1, 1st place in the NFC East. Wentz had a pretty good game.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Lions, they always disappoint

Jimmy Garoppolo trade
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Texans QB Deshaun Watson tears ACL in practice
Colts put Andrew Luck on IR
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

It's on both the Celtics & Patriots ESPN pages
"Newest Pats' Field Goal Blocker -- DINO RAJDA!!"
haha -- it doesn't really say that but wouldn't That be something --
Dino was a darn good player in a down era for the C's

Like him or hate em, the numbers don't lie
30-37, 339 yards, started the game 9-for-9 as Mexican fans chanted his name the whole time
they knew what they were seeing -- the best QB of them all who'll stay that way well into the future
it's something that any sports fan appreciates & acknowledges -- Here,Today>Now, TB12 is the best to ever take snaps over center barking signals while reading the defense
was gonna say, Browns off schneid Dec. 3 when Josh Gordon returns 😮
But, in addition to losses they also probly lead league in starters lost to injury -- every week it's someone -- they're asking coach Jackson to win w/a college-level team
...so, as Paul Brown, Otto Graham, Marion Motley & Lou "The Toe" Groza roll in their graves.....0-16 looming
RIP, Terry Glenn 🙁

How about those Saints?
Down by 15 with just over 3 minutes to play, they score 2 TDs, get the two pt. conversion, lose the OT coin flip and win the game....
Not a bad days work
