Pouring rain. Ground game. Defense. Deflated footballs do well in wet conditions. Patriots 17-7.

One down, 18 to go. Cool

Keep talking. Keep whining. The Pats will keep winning. This franchise loves the Me Against the World mentality.

PS - Big Ben - admitting you don't know the rules is pathetic as a 10 year vet.

PPS - Tomlin - The NFL runs the headsets. I expect a call to Ted Wells to investigate.

Get ready for Headset-gate. Pittsburgh is going to file a complaint. I'd worry more about the placekicker and defensive secondary myself.

Good performance by the Pats. Chip on the shoulder approach will work very well for them. Only ridiculously distasteful thing is the whole "We hate what this has done to the league" lines. As if. The Patriots only care about the Patriots. Period.

Headsets? Pfft. It's Cheatin' Season now. Everyone is gonna get into it this year. There ain't no top cop no more.

I expected a win. Two things though about that game. First is Tomlin should tell Antonio, "yo, trash talk in the end zone with 2 seconds left in a game after you catch a TD pass when we're WINNING".

and second, "Where is Roger?" was awesome... Cool Grin 😛

as for then headsets, that's on the NFL. Maybe Tomlin should have actually paid attention to the radio broadcast of the game. Zolak screaming, "Nobody's covering Gronkowski!!!" 😛

This is better than any soap opera or mini-series, and it looks like it will last all season. No matter, you will all be steamrolled by the mighty Cowboys on our way to reclaim that which is rightfully ours:

Another Lombardi Trophy. Get out of the way or be crushed.

DOOMSDAY is coming!

COWBOYS!!!!!!

you would like the Patriots to be concerned about anything else? Like what? Like the "integrity" of the league?

gotcha...

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Steelers tight end coach James Daniel is being investigated for allegedly assaulting and verbally accosting a Patriots fan on the way to the locker room at halftime. A league official confirmed to Schefter that there’s an investigation into the alleged incident. Daniel was seen allegedly kicking a Patriots fan in the back of the leg and yelling at him, per the ESPN report. Daniel returned to the coaching booth after halftime, where police and league security were waiting. Daniel then began shouting at the police officer upon being confronted in the booth.

Hmmm.....I wonder what the result of the NFL investigation into this was?

Does this quote sound familiar?

“The problem was the headset kept going out multiple times during the game, so I had to run over and get a couple calls, piece together some calls on the headset that came in broken up. It was one of those things we were fighting through."

Ben Roethlisberger at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night, right?

Nope. It was Mark Sanchez -- then-quarterback of the New York Jets -- at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh after the Jets lost to the Steelers in the 2010 AFC Championship Game, as related by Michael David Smith of NBC's Pro Football Talk.

“It never really happened (in other games) for that long of a time,” Sanchez said that day. “We had to use a walkie-talkie at one point and [offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer] was just yelling calls in at one point."

Gee. Headsets going out. In a championship game, no less. Wonder how Mike Tomlin reacted to that. And how pittsburghsteelers.com covered the story?

The Steelers are backing off their earlier rhetoric. Now that the heat of the moment has passed, they probably realize that they overreacted. Good for them. Cool

The Steelers do not intend to file a complaint with the NFL about the problems with headsets at Gillette Stadium in Thursday's loss to the Patriots.

Also, the Steelers said after the inititally told NFL officials of their headset problems during the game, the problems did not re-occur after being fixed.

In a statement to the Herald, the team said:

"We have provided information to NFL representatives regarding issues that occurred Thursday night at Gillette Stadium with our coach-to-coach headset communications system. The problem was addressed during the game and we did not have further problems in the second half. We did not file a formal complaint, nor do we plan to do so."

The statement is in sharp contrast with the comments of Steelers coach Mike Tomlin last night when he said headset problems repeatedly happen in Foxboro.

The NFL, which maintains the headsets during games, said the problem was due to a power issue exacerbated by bad weather.

Not a fan of Mike and Mike at all and this mornings comments by them on Steelers being man handled by the Pats seemed a little off as per usual. Steelers missed 6 pts on missed field goals and missed another 4 when they had the ball on NE goal line settling for a FG which NBC figured we didn't need to see.

NE started off well bur Steelers kept their heads up all night pushing back and making some solid big gain plays on both sides of the ball.

Steelers will be a force when all are back from 420 school and wherever else they have been sent to repent.

No, they're not. Have to forgive the heat of the moment rhetoric from the Squealers, but they seem to understand that they overreacted now. Much ado about nothing, at least as far as any nefarious activity on the part of the Patriots goes.
