I think ATT should jump on and market a "Tom Brady protection/damage plan".
Money to be made there.

Congrats.
Not my doing or idea to hang that banner. Pretty lame IMHO.
Not sure what that has to do with Brady and supposedly smashing his cell phone every few months.
Oh well.you want to talk Brady's phone? How does that help the Colts?
I'm pretty sure you've got other things to be concerned with. at least you should.
your own coach said you got your asses handed to you.
go ahead, talk phones...
The only thing I am concerned about is one of my kids is getting ready to graduate and head to college next year!! Yikes!! I dont live and die by football.
NE should be concerned about they're defensive backfield.
I never complained once or thought anything other than the Colts getting stomped. The footballs had nothing to do with that game. Indy would have gotten beat if Brady and the rest of the Pats played blind folded. So ou dont have to waste your time going there with me. I know , I know the Pats are superior. 😉

I thought you were much younger. Off to college can be a harrowing experience but it all settles in after a while. Just keep your checkbook handy... 😛
I suppose I could explain the other things I do with my life besides come here for 10 minutes every once in a while to smack it up but I don't feel the need to.
back on topic: the Pats secondary is going to be fine with McCourty calling the shots. And don't forget Malcolm Butler... 😉
doesn't matter. Patriots repeat.

Interesting article in today's Philadelphia Enquirer. I'm sure it'll lead to all sorts of negative comments on Philly players, fans, their treatment of Santa Claus, etc. etc... 😛
Sorry it's not about the Patriots or someone's mildly flat balls, but perhaps the rest of the fans could use a little break...
Sorry, but the only thing important in the NFL is Patriot news. Posting anything else will result in gondicar and piacere cramming more Patriot BS down your throat. 😛

Do you mean this Malcolm Butler?

Chiefs safety Eric Berry will play in the first preseason game on Saturday night, after being declared cancer-free on June 22. Berry was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma late last year.
Not only is it an incredibly inspiring story to a lot of people, Berry also defines all the positive adjectives one can use when talking about any pro athlete...class act, nice guy, all that.
Eric Berry providing 'motivation, courage' to Chiefs as he returns from cancer
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Normally, it would have been just a routine play, in the middle of a routine practice, a part of the usual training camp fabric: A safety running stride for stride with a receiver, leaping into the air, diving in front of a pass and knocking the ball to the grass.
But this play was special, because that safety was Eric Berry. And his effort was a sign that soon the NFL won’t just be talking about Eric Berry the cancer survivor, but will again be focusing on the man previously famous as a Pro Bowl safety for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Sunday’s practice marked Berry’s most significant work since he was cleared to join his teammates at training camp last month, just eight months removed from a diagnosis of Hodgkin’s lymphoma and about three months after his final chemotherapy treatment. His doctors declared him to be cancer free June 22.
The Chiefs have gradually increased Berry’s workload over the past two weeks. Sunday, he was in full pads during live drills. He was tackling running backs to the ground. He was covering receiver Jeremy Maclin, his new teammate. Berry was even in the middle of a brief post-play scrum.
He continues to line up with the second-team defense, but it’s possible to imagine now that Berry will be playing — and playing well — once the regular season starts. But patience — Chiefs coach Andy Reid has not announced when Berry will return to game action.
“At first, it was just get him healthy,” Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith told USA TODAY Sports. “And then all of a sudden, it was like, OK, he's healthy, and you can think about him playing this year, and it's like — wow.”
Berry has eschewed all media requests since holding a press conference with his parents, coaches and the team doctor in July. Fitting, teammates said, for a guy who never previous sought the spotlight despite always being one of the best players on the team. Berry, the fifth overall pick of the 2010 draft, is a three-time Pro Bowler who also made the 2013 all-pro team.
His on-field contributions aside, Berry's recovery and return is galvanizing the Chiefs locker room. If he was among the most respected players on the team before his diagnosis, he’s now the most revered.
“It’s motivation, courage — for the whole team,” linebacker Derrick Johnson told USA TODAY Sports. “Eric Berry stands tall. Just his stature is tall. Not physically, but he's a head above everyone else. This means a lot to us.”
Johnson was on injured reserve, recovering from a torn Achilles’ tendon, when Berry fell ill last November. And while he’s impressed by the speed with which Berry has returned to full-contact football, Johnson wasn’t surprised, believing Berry’s return was never in doubt. Johnson couldn’t even envision a scenario in which Berry wouldn’t just beat the cancer, but be back in uniform and playing at his typically elite level.
“It's not fair to him, but we kind of knew he would be OK. Maybe that sounds bad to say it, but that's the kind of pressure we put on him,” Johnson said. “We were like, that's EB. EB is a man, physically and mentally, so we knew how he was going to attack it. He did just that. Not that we didn't give him props for it."
The respect is deserved. Berry managed to work out while he was going through six rounds of chemotherapy treatments at Emory University’s Winship Cancer Institute in Atlanta and told reporters last month that he even wound up gaining a pound. That regimen seems to have helped ease his transition back to the rigors of football.
Defensive coordinator Bob Sutton said Sunday that Berry is being treated similarly to any player who is returning from a medical issue, even if his situation was far different from Johnson's or defensive end Mike DeVito, who also had an Achilles’ injury.
“He's seeing things better. It's slowing down for him,” Sutton said. “This is strictly football. This has nothing to do with what he overcame. This is like somebody who’s missed (for other reasons). He's happy with that. We're just going to follow his rhythm, whatever he feels like.”
Still, even if Berry wants his coaches to treat him like just another football player, it is impossible for his teammates to ignore the impact of his return, especially now that he's showing glimpses of his pre-cancer self on the field.
“Every time you look at him, it's a reminder, like, 'Hey, you think you're tired? You think you can't get through today? Just look at EB,' " Johnson said.
“I'm sure this is easy for him now because of what he went through. This is cake.”

Looks like they are playing some spangly team I've never heard of with Janeane Garofalo at QB.

Yeah Malcolm made that play..was at the right place at the right time. Seahawks blew that. Should have kept the beast mode going, would have won that more than likely. Anyways...
Need to see a little more than that play to help the Pats backfield with the players they lost. I have always admired the Pats , (pains me saying this), they can always reload. They lost some good ones back there.

I owe you an apology. I thought I was dealing with an adult. I didn't know that you were about 13 years old. Sorry.

Is keller still crying about his deflated balls?

if TB12 gets the 4 games, I'll be happy with 2 and 2.
(just like last year) 😉

Can't wait for opening day when the Pack whipes the floor with da Bears IN Chicago. I love that the Bears just can't get rid of Packers' fans' 2nd favorite QB, Jay Cutler. Keep those crazy tosses coming our way, Jay!
THE BEARS. STILL. SUCK!

Butler doesn't get enough credit for that play. Was more than "right place at the right time" (which implies all he had to do was stand there and catch it).
No question that they lost a lot of talent at the corners and that they could be very vulnerable there. But like you said reloading has been the Pats calling card since BB came to town, and reports out of camp is that Butler has been impressive. We'll see.

Agreed. People who discredit Butler for that great play, in which he made a terrific read and was moving in well before the snap, are just sore. Love or hate New England, the Seahawks didn't give the game away, the Patriots won it. If Butler didn't make a break on the ball, the Seahawks would have either been praised for completing a surprise TD throw when everyone thought "run", or they'd have had another down to punch it in for the win. It's like saying David Tyree's helmet was in the right place at the right time.

my 1st time playing fantasy football, here's who I got. I know, too many defenses. I have an offer already to trade Cooks for Brady which would leave that guy with one QB, but do I really need 3 QB's?
QB A. Dalton
QB C. Newton
RB R. Bush
RB M. Forte
RB F. Gore
RB D. McFadden
WR B. Cooks
WR Calvin Johnson
WR J. Maclin
WR B. Marshall
TE A. Gates
TE H. Miller
K M. Crosby
D Bengals
D Rams

Go Jaguars !!
We kicked the Steelers butts in preseason game #1, nevermind the fact that Big Ben only played one series and promptly marched down the field and scored a TD, just forget that.

Good to know the London Jaguars fan base is growing!

Randy Moss was at Pats practice yesterday, offering words of wisdom to Gronk and the other receivers. Come on Randy, suit up and run the deep route just one more time!!
[Edited on 8/20/2015 by gondicar]

Ditto to that, there was never a greater connection for Brady than Moss -- great shot
but not just the preseason but the regular season is over for players dropping like flies -- it should be 2 game preseason
why so quiet on Brady front -- NFL preparing to settle it looks like -- Brady's gonna play no mattawat -- Garoppolo was sharp Sat. too

Waiting for word on Jordy Nelson's knee. Even though he's the Pack's best target and one of the greatest deep threats in the league, we are still pretty stacked at WR (Cobb, Adams, R Rodgers, Quarless). It's why Ted Thompson drafts a new WR every Spring. It's not good, but it isn't going to derail another NFC North title. Hell, when the Packers beat the Pats in Super Bowl XXXI, we had so many wide receivers injured we brought Andre Rison in to plug the hole.
A lot of people are blaming preseason, but if you shorten the preseason to 2 games (which I am not against), he still goes down in preseason game number 2. If it's an ACL, who is to say it wouldn't have blown in week 1?
I will say, watching the game yesterday you definitely have the 2 best fan bases in the NFL: Green Bay and Pittsburgh. Plenty of Packers fans made the trip (I almost did, but had to work) and there was plenty of cheering for football in August.

No doubt -- Pats are always all the shit in NE -- it still seems too long tho -- have also thought that about spring training too -- but you're quite right, there's no doubt about the popularity -- during summer tho it's a bit much -- like football is almost year-round -- MLB little different

NFL season seems pretty perfect length to me, I hope they never stretch it to 18 games like Goodell seems hell bent on doing.
MLB seems to go on forever to me. That's probably because there aren't any sports happening other than baseball during the summer once NBA and NHL are done. I live in NYC and it's a baseball town through and through, Mets fans are already looking towards 2017 Spring training. Watching baseball in April and May is like, well, watching preseason football.

If they add two more regular season games, then hopefully they expand the roster number.

Reggie Wayne to the Patriots. Not sure how much he has left in the tank, but can't hurt I guess especially with LaFell still on the PUP list.
(hmmmm, Randy Moss is only a year and a half older. Hmmm...)

Yeah..thats the question ..how much he has left.
His contract with the Colts expired in 2012 , Lucks first year, and he resigned. That was a big help to the offense and helping Andrew to have an experienced/seasoned high quality receiver in his first year. He had a good stats that year.
2013, unfortunatley he got hurt in the forth game and was out for the rest of the season. He was putting up numbers till that point.
2014, I dont think he fully recoverd and had some other injuries that year which held him out and not as productive.
The Colts did not resign him, obviously , this year, due to his age, injuries and productionb I assume.
Bill is a smart coach and will use Reggie as a role and spot player. Inside pass plays 3-7 yrds to pickup a first down. Big guy with great hands and Brady can thread it to him in tight coverage and he will hang on. Not a guy to drop alot of balls so far.Very reliable.
He is not a deep threat anymore.
I am not sure if Reggie signed with the Pats cause he is looking(chasing) for a ring, thinks he has more left or both. The Pats have a pretty good receiving group, so I am not sure how much play Reggie will get. So if he is looking for clock, I dont think he will get it. Ring ...a very good chance.
I kinda question people when the sign with teams just to get a ring and they hardly contribute to that goal. Do you feel like you earned/worthy of that it?
I am not saying Reggie is Doing that,I dont know..maybe he is. Oh well, thats his choice.
I would like to see him, healthy and produce, just not against the Colts! 😛 😛
Worse case scenario,Pats come to Indy, Bradys return, game on the line, hits Reggie in the corner of the end zone for a game winning TD. 😛 😛 😛 😛 . Would not suprise me at all.

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Looks like Jordy Nelson and Pouncey are out. 2nd year in a row for the Steelers o lineman.
Loss of Nelson will hurt. Big target for Rogers over the last few years. To bad, but unfortunatley these things happen and are part of the game.

Hey porkchopbob, I am a Packers fan too. Well..Colts first of course. I lived in Wisconsin for a few years as a kid, and was a fan of the Pack in the mid to late 70's. Always will root for them....unless playing Indy though!!
I ran into a guy outside of the liqour store a few weeks ago who had a Packer hat on and I yelled "Nice looking hat!" We got to talking and he asked me if I remebered the bumper sticker from the 70's era Packers that read:
"You might be able to beat our Pack, but you can't lick our Dickey"..refering to Lynn Dickey qb at that time. Pretyy funny!!!
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Yawn. Get back to me when the real season starts.
Steelers WILL be in 7th Heaven.
Take it to the bank boys.
