Yes, the QB combo of Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel will surely lead them to the promised land and I can certainly understand your excitement, especially since they have Dez Bryant to throw to. Wait, what? Oh. Never mind.

Cole Beasley baby!

Who said this and who was he talking about:
"He's a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won't see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it."
Hint: it was Jerry Jones talking about Branden Weeden.

What's he supposed to say, "The guy we just picked up sucks?"

C'mon man, it's Jerry. This is the same guy who thinks a playoff bye is the same as a win.

The start of an era, 14 years ago today...

Quote of the day from Dan Fouts recalling some advice that Fran Tarkenton gave him:
"If you don't like your coach just play bad enough and they'll fire him".
Priceless.

Lions looking like they want the first pick in the draft.

This probably sounds silly but it would be nice if players didn't get hurt. Shame for the Steelers about Big Ben. That is REALLY going to hurt them I'm afraid.

My Lions have to go to Seattle this week. The world will get to see how bad they are in prime time for the second week in a row. 😮

Our season may have been carted off the field yesterday.
Hockey season anyone 🙁

I feel your pain my brother.
But I don't care.
cowboys??????

these games are a formality.
just a way to pass the time until the Patriots play the Packers in SB50.
heh heh...

Seahawks revenge and Mariota Magic 12 of 15 so far this week in pickems!!!
Good football weekend all around other than of course my Ducks sucking it like they haven't sucked since 1977.

The Packers still managed to win the NFC North with Rodgers out for 6 games in 2013. You could still totally lose to the Packers in the Super Bowl again if you make a run.
GB looked great last night. They dominated KC, even though the Chiefs were able to tack on some late garbage scores with their running game.

Looking forward to Pats/Packers superbowl. 😛

Not a fan of the early bye week, but it does mean that Belichick is already game planning for the 'pokes for week 5.

Packers are very good, but people should not over look the Arizona Cardinals. Granted they really have not played anyone yet and they're schedule is in they're favor, but I think they have a very good team and a very smart head coach who knows his football.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I think that is what you meant. 😉

Sorry (not really) haters, but Tom Brady is the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for Sept. Only Peyton Manning has been so honored as many times (8). #vengeancetour

The 'Pokes missing 8 of their top players, including Romo and Dez, the Patsies with a bye week before the game. Looks like the perfect set up for an upset!

Pretty good for a guy who was supposed to be watching from home (Aaron Rodgers has 7 NFC player of the months as of last year, but this is an arbitrary award).
Pats have an incredibly soft schedule this year. They picked a good year to take some revenge, if that's on their mind. The only real test I see is Denver in November, and perhaps Buffalo if they can keep it together. (and yes, I see Cowboys and Colts on their schedule this month, but, I mean, c'mon).
In other news, we all knew the Raiders were unintentionally funny, but who knew Al Davis' son intentionally cuts his hair like this:

And let's not forget the league's best kicker...

You are hanging your hat on a kicker? Let's not leave out the long snapper. 😉

Yes, that's exactly what I am doing, hanging my hat on a kicker. And why not? After all, he is the leading scorer in the league. Just like he was last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.
Seriously, no one ever seems to think kickers are important...until they miss a game winning chip shot as time expires. Not sure anyone besides Adam V makes both of those kicks in the "snowbowl" against the Raiders in 2002, and if he misses either one I'm not sure Tom Brady ever becomes THE Tom Brady.
