It’s not just Harris-Trump

Bruins-Maple Leafs

followed by the season’s first renewals of the oldest rivalries in sports - those midwest monarchs, ChiHawks-Red Wings, tmrw

& the granddaddy of em all - Leafs-Habs, Hockey Night in Canada, Saturday

we play NY later - regahdless, For Broonz, Rivalry Games Count As Much At The End Of The Season As They Do Now - we’ve seen it so often - winning in Tor is always 3 points, at least

tonight’s outcomes (puck/presidential) will be close, mayb to be determined in OT (shootout/electoral college)

Leafs star Auston Matthews out for tonight's game, upper body, day to day. Leafs do have a winning record, 35-19, I think, when he's out of line-up. Leafs haven't beaten the dreaded Bruins in a couple of years.

Yeesh - “shootout”??? - “shutout” was more like it - neither contest was as close as envisioned - they had 3 PP goals - gotta be better than that/guessing we will be

Grover Cleveland, Democrat - 22nd & 24th U.S. president, 1885-89, 1893-97

Donald Trump, Republican - 45th & 47th U.S. president, 2016-20, 2024-28

that’s how history books will read in future generations - Grover Cleveland always stood out like a sore thumb among U.S. presidents b/c of his separate terms, now he has company

Cleveland was 56 years old when he took office for his 2nd term, a full 22 years younger than Trump

The nation was w/out a VP in 1885-89, Cleveland’s 1st term - his VP died shortly after inauguration, leaving the office vacant

the VP in his 2nd term was a familiar name in 20th century politics - Adlai Stevenson - young Adlai later became U.N. ambassador & a fixture in 1950s-60s era politics

at any rate there’s a real history there🇺🇸

Anyone for music talk? I heard Fleetwood Mac’s version of Black Magic Woman recently, had never heard it b4

Tango in the Night I think is a good FMac album

I love the ABB - overnight, it seemed to go from Duane/BO to Chuck/Lamar

of course we’ll never know how that 2nd six man band would’ve sounded had Berry lived

later add, awesome to see old friend Robert Williams III tear it up w/13 pts 5 reb 1st half tonite - he & Grant Williams both were good players for us

If that was new, and you liked it, then you should look into the rest of FM with Peter Green.

Yeah am not too familiar w/that era - Peter Green is right there w/Mike Bloomfield as one of the greats, not to mention Duane Allman & Dickey Betts, Roy Buchanan & Lonnie Mack, Buddy Guy & Albert King, Johnny Winter & Stevie Ray Vaughan…..🎶

fun to be surprised by ones outta left field like that, like For What It’s Worth by Cher, All Along The Watchtower by Brewer & Shipley….

It now looks like the kayaker faked his death after a reported drowning this summer at a Wisconsin lake

he staged his death & fled to Europe, they’re now saying, to meet up w/a girl he met online

abandoning a wife & 3 kids in the process

now they’re apparently onto him

craziness - wattaworld

It’s hard to understand why Lindsey would want to race again

she’s 40 years old, she’s been retired since 2019, she’s had crashes/surgeries, has won multiple events, doesn’t need the $ - the first hard crash could be devastating for her - bad call imo🎿

can recall when 1972 Olympic multi gold medalist, swimmer Mark Spitz, tried a comeback much later on in his 40s - the publicity was great, the event fell short

it’s always been hard for athletes who’ve been at the top, to retire - keep smiling & please keep it between the ditches, Lindsey

Home ice advantage

its a saying that’s applied forever - probly predates O6

Our team, our O6 Broonz, made a mockery of it last year - 16 home losses as of late in the season

-

we needed that game last nite, had an W2 going into it

didn’t happen - played decent, outcome, our 5th straight L on home ice - it’s crazy - you’d have to look it up for days to find out when that last happened

the club is out of sorts right now - Firing Montgomery Was Not The Answer - said so right off - we pull the plug too quick on coaches - all he did was compile the greatest single-season record in NHL history, 135 points

i get mad at Broonz sometimes - good thing it’s still early

back&gold forever
