Seems two of the worlds largest Agencies are having it out in a very public way. CAA had 5 top agents jump ship to join UTA followed quickly by 5 more the next day. Kanye West & Will Farrell quickly followed suit and left CAA as well to move to UTA with possibly more to come. CAA isn't taking this & has begun suing UTA & some of the agents who left. Considering these Agencies orchestrate much of the entertainment world & much of the larger music shows going on,I thought this may be of interest.
Personally I'm kind of sick of some of the so-called Entertainment & hype we're subjected to on a daily basis,& disappointed in the lack of coverage of many quality bands & musicians out there.
I'd like to see a Shake-up of the entire industry & see the 'Kanye Wests' of the world shoved to the back of the line and the "Derek Trucks" in music moved to the front,where they belong!!
Maybe you can explain what CAA and UTA stand for. Maybe I'm not as informed as you, but I have no idea. It bugs me when people use acronyms and just assume that everyone knows what they stand for.

oops sorry,I just assumed people knew about these agencies. I guess just seeing the Van Halen posts & the terrible performances & closing of Hollywood Blvd for an old band set me off on the state of the industry & the lousy shows we're sometimes spoon fed,the astronomical secondary market prices,the Kanye Wests hijacking awards shows,etc.I'm a little pissed about all the struggling bands & the ones who constantly sell-out their principals to 'make-it'. I've never posted anything on this 'whipping post' & thought it was a place to vent a bit.These are 2 of the largest 5 Agencies,Creative Artists Agency & United Talent Agency.I'm always seeing abreviations on posts,like DLR,EVH,IMOER-david lee roth & eddie van halen & I figured out,I just assumed everyone knew these initials caa,uta as everyones involved in music here.
