The party of "no" led by the ironically named Freedom Caucus has pushed Kevin McCarthy aside. So, where does this leave the angry & out of touch GOP HOR members? They have shown time & time again that they can't govern and to get things passed, and the GOP relies upon the the votes of the opposing party to pass legislation. Where is the leadership in the House GOP caucus? This is truly a party in disarray.

Get ready for more GOP lack of governance, more takeovers by the far far right, little compromise, and increased possibilities of government shutdowns.

pretty amazing. i asked a guy at work who i know is "a good little republican", his words, and just asking him what he thought sent him into a rage. i never talk to him about politics because i know where he is but it was wild how angry he is at the party. but he was spot on on where they are at as far as his segment of the party. i think they are only maybe 20-25% of the party but my brother who is a political science major thinks it is far higher. personally i don't understand why that part of the party wants to still be in the party. i think they should go back to the libertarians or start their own party. we'll see how this plays out i guess, but i don't think it will affect the country much.

i still think life is good and getting better.

The rumor in DC is an extramarital affair. Apparently there are letters and/or emails. The word is he couldn't beat both an affair and the impending ethics investigation into the Benghazi investigation.

As in the past, as we've seen the GOP actions and threats, are you OK with shutdowns if the extremists don't get their way?

Would that make you pleased & proud?

Do you believe that's what makes for good government?

Would that reinforce for you that the GOP is doing its job & not "caving"?

I noticed the lack of the word "compromise" in your post. I'm guessing that's foreign to your idea of how the GOP should work with the Dems.?

The ultra far right wing make up less than 20% of the Republican Party. They are a minority of the Republican Party and a super minority of America. Why do they think a minority get to make the rules in a democracy?

There's a unique possibility here - a bipartisan election of Speaker. If the GOP can't come up with someone that can win, they may be looking at an historic hands across the aisle election.

What I want to know is why they are trying to force someone, anyone to agree to run for the position. Ryan doesn't want it, Pete King doesn't want it, though he said he could consider it. Why is there no one who wants the job? That says plenty about the state of the House.

2016 is an election year so maybe we should just vote all of them out and put in some new people who actually might want to work for the American people.
