Marijuana Legalization Results in Decreased Use Of Alcohol, Nicotine and Opioids, Study Shows

This is exactly why the alcohol lobby has fought cannabis legalization for decades.  Once the false propaganda, outright lies, and stigma surrounding cannabis is disproven by the masses now more apt to try cannabis due to legalization, users who relied on alcohol will realize just how toxic a substance it is compared to the far more benign substance that is cannabis.

But make no mistake, the incredibly powerful and well funded alcohol lobby will continue its efforts at weaving the double standard into the consciousness of the public, law enforcement, politicians, etc.

Especially at the federal level where their lobbyists really hold sway.  Their biggest fear is federal rescheduling and so much of their effort is concentrated in the halls of Congress.  

Meanwhile, the Biden administration continues to bury its head in the sand and ignore what the majority of Americans feel about legalization.  It’s a political win for Biden if he’d actually come around to 21st century thinking and get behind the movement.

What I find scarier by the day is what will happen to the progress made toward cannabis reform at the state level as more and more state legislatures come under the control of ultra-right wing politicians.

I’ve no doubt these right wingers are coming for more things then just abortion rites, gay marriage, etc.  Anything they view as destructive or against their morality is fair game.  People need to wake up to what is at stake if this small minority gains control of the politicians who ultimately control states.
