Discovery’s “Manhunt: Unabomber”: Kaczynski as a true, heartless prophet
The new miniseries makes us reconsider the nature of conformity, our reliance on tech . . . and that manifesto

I know nothing about Kaczynski, or how he thinks or thought his behavior would get people to evaluate his beliefs.

Technology has it's place in a civilized world, but you have to be aware of all the uses for it, and avoid the stuff that people use to control others (ie. data mining etc.) as much as possible.

I know nothing

I edited that for you. Much more concise and accurate.

Ted Kacyzinski was on a genius level. If not for his brother turning him in I believe he would have eluded the most brilliant FBI minds working on the case. His dedication to his cause was autistic/aspergers/ocd-like in his thoughts. His skills as a bomb maker ( his signature was handmade wooden boxes no two alike) as well as his knowledge of dna (he used to get pubes from public toilets and drop a "clue" in his letters) showcased his high IQ.

Not to mention this was mostly done before the internet replaced research and thinking.

It sounds as if you admire this guy. Genius? Maybe. Coward? Sending mail bombs to kill people you don't know is sociopathic. There is nothing to admire here.

The show has rekindled my interest in this document and I had forgotten that his writings were also highly critical of the modern leftist movement and the dangers of political correctness.
