Comply or die.

I had to watch the video twice before I saw when the shooting took place. It happened so fast and without warning. Like an execution at point blank range.

What is it with these traffic stops? Especially when they know they are on videotape and that does not stop them.

Not to mention that this stop was just for a missing front license plate. Sandra Bland's stop was for failure to signal a lane change. Neither driver acted as a model citizen during their stop, but neither situation called for more than a citation and a "Have a nice day". Even if the person attempts to flee you don't shoot them. We're not talking about serial killers here. We just talking about black citizens not blindly obeying THE MAN, and THE MAN isn't going to stand for it. It makes one wonder how much of this has been going on in the absence of video cameras. It also makes one understand why blacks sometimes act the way they do around police officers. They treat them as the enemy because they are the enemy.

If you are pulled over for a front license plate infraction, why run?

Each and every case has the same common denominator, lack of cooperation with the police. How hard is it? Comply with simple requests, don't try to grab the officers weapon, don't run, don't resist, don't display a poor attitude, when asked to leave the area do so. It works.

You're right. They should be shot.

Is that your remedy? A little harsh, Bob.
No, how about a little wisdom and guidance? A little could go a long way.

Have you ever been profiled by police strictly because of your race???, have a cop yell: "I'm going to light you up!" [with a taser] and then drag you out of your car and beat you, because you refuse to put out a cigarette in your own car??. [Edited on 7/31/2015 by pops42]
No, I put the cigarette out if he asked me. Then re-light it or get another one in five minutes when he's gone.

Samuel Dubose was running away very fast when he was murdered...

No, that is not my remedy, it is my summation of your post. It sounds to me like you're saying that non-compliance justifies shooting. If I misunderstood maybe you could clarify by commenting on the action of the officer rather than the motorist.

1. You misunderstood big time. If I felt that non-compliance justifies shooting I would have said so.
2. I've never spent a day as a police officer, but many as a motorist. None of us has a clue what cops really go through.

Good. How many years have you served as a police officer?

About as many as you've served as a young black male dealing with a white police officer.

Not to mention that this stop was just for a missing front license plate. Sandra Bland's stop was for failure to signal a lane change.
Do you believe the police should start to forgo these unimportant routine stops, i.e tail lights, front license plates, blinkers, ect, particularly if the motorist is black?
Thanks largely to race politics and race hustling, blacks seem to automatically believe they're being picked on and thus the poor attitude. Should we start letting these little things slide just to avoid potential trouble on the roadside?

Which provides an excuse to act like a disrespectful, belligerent jac*ass when a cop pulls you over. Go for it.

So let me get this straight. We have a situation which involves two people. One is a belligerent jackass. The other is a killer. And it's the jackass that troubles you the most.

Belligerence is punishable by death.
Comply or die.

It's amazing to me that there are people that have no problem with that.

I'll just continue to say that your best bet is just do what the cop asks you to do. He's not
asking for your eye teeth. Follow some simple requests and you drive away five minutes later.
How hard is it?
Please. No responses like this comment means a person deserves to be shot. If I thought that
I'd say it.
When A leads to B, examine and possibly rethink A as a means to prevent B. Even if B is not justified it can easily be prevented.

Not only that, they support it, and the one that dies, deserves it.

Why test the police? That's really noble and all, but also very STUPID.
After all, they wake up in the morning thirsty for blood and just want to get that
first murder of the day out of the way. Hopefully, a black person and hopefully
before lunch break.

Just like clockwork.

Oh, nothing. If you think I support cops shooting people on the roadside and that my position is that they deserve it, well then it must be true. If you say so.
