I really have a hard time with this. I know there are some out there who agree with Harden; I am certainly not one of them. Yeah, I'm in the Bay area and am a big Warriors fan, so admittedly that taints my opinion somewhat. But look at the facts: Houston was NOT a one man team as some say. They eliminated the L.A. Clippers, who had just eliminated the World Champion San Antonio Spurs .............sorry man, ONE player does not do that himself! Then Houston faced the Warriors..........and managed ONE win in that series. To me, that's about all you need to know. Oh, don't forget, the Warriors won it all. Let me add to that, Steph Curry won the MVP in a landslide vote, garnering 100 of 130 first-place votes. Harden had 25 first-place votes.

I think James Harden is really hurting himself in the long run by making these remarks. Fans and others look long and hard at egos and humility. I still think James Harden is a GREAT player, but I've already lowered my opinion of James Harden the person after reading this.

Here are Harden's remarks, from this morning's San Jose Mercury News:

"I know I was MVP," Harden told NBA.com. "That's 100 percent given all the things that happened last season. Credit the Golden State Warriors for an unbelievable year. They had an unbelievable team, coaching staff, everything. But that award means most valuable to your team. We finished second in the West, which nobody thought we were going to do at the beginning of the year even when everybody was healthy. We were near the top in having the most injuries. We won our division in a division where every single team made the playoffs. There's so many factors. I led the league in total points scored, minutes played. Like I said, I'm not taking anything away from Steph, but I felt I deserved the Most Valuable Player. That stays with me."
