Israel & Obama
In typical Obama fashion, this will be just another in a line of actions that boomerangs on him and creates more havoc than intended result.
Admitting that the "two-state" solution is a fraud and an impossibility given the long record of Palestinian abuses, all this will achieve will be swift, numerous, and potentially serious actions against the UN from Congress and the new President. If Trump had his focus on NATO, it will now turn first to the UN, and to de-legitimizing, de-funding, and de-fanging them at all costs.
Even many in Obama's own party have come out against it, ensuring further downgrade of his legacy within his party, amid all the other wreckage he leaves them with.
So nice going Barry, in your petty vindictiveness you're going to weaken the UN, force the new President to take even stronger measures in support of Israel, upset important constituent groups in your own party (why would the Jewish vote stay with the D's?), and leave another questionable action for history to judge your legacy by.
Looking forward to the future interviews where he claims none of this was his fault.
So, will Israel be giving the $38 billion back, or are you gonna ignore that too?
Trump is going to destroy the UN and it's Obama's fault? What orifice did you pull that out of?
Poisonous Philosophies are at work in many of the troubles of today.
There is Islamic prophecy that there would be a peace treaty between Israel and Palestine, but it would not last. When the two state solution comes to pass, war will break out and the only one who will be able to restore that peace will be the dajjal (the anti-Christ). The world will be deceived and herald him as a great peacemaker.
The reality of this two state solution being close to coming into existence shows you how close we are on the timeline towards Judgement Day.
One thing that Kerry said that is prophetic is that Israel "can either be Jewish or Democratic, it cannot be both".

If the US had listened to the Moosad 15 years ago we would have saved a lot more money than that; and quite a few lives
And if it indeed is true that Obama pushed for the resolution; yes he is responsible for starting the process that Trump may complete

Given that the $38 billion is over ten years, and has all sorts of stipulations that they use it to buy military hardware from US manufacturers, what exactly do you expect them to give back? We're mostly paying ourselves for future military supplies made by Americans and sent to Israel.
If you don't think Congress - both D's & R's - plus the new President, are going to take actions against the UN that they otherwise wouldn't have, then make your case.
would peace come to the borders of israel with a 2 state solution? would peace and the start of a 2 state solution start with settlements? would israel be easier to strike with a stronger palestine? would israel be safer taking over the disputed territory?
i understand the questions and have watched for as many years as the rest of you.
this is still way below my pay grade.....that full scale war is not happening with current circumstances......is a good thing.
i'll let the experts go back at it now
_______________________________________________________________________________________
The current crap at The U.N. and Kerry's speech is just political theater.
The U.S. is the primary donor to the U.N. and all we get in return are traffic jams in NYC and unpaid fines.
Full scale war will not happen.
The Palestinians are supplied by Iran through proxy Islamic Extremist Terrorists. However they are not the most loved folks in the Middle East. Many Muslims consider them "dirty".
The U.S. is under a treaty obligation to protect and defend Israel should they be attacked.
I just don't see a full scale war happening.
Plus I am tired of the whole Middle East thing.
Can't the world's "peaceful" nations go blow up another region?
Plus I am tired of the whole Middle East thing.
a hidden truth we all share
It's funny to see some people allow themselves to get so worked up over political decisions, as if they are qualified to know anything about it.
Plus I am tired of the whole Middle East thing.
a hidden truth we all share
_______________________________________________________________________________________
I guess an upside would be that many of us can pronounce the names of Middle Eastern people much better and we have an enhanced knowledge of the geography.
And now on to another region who's people haven't yet been accused.
Nine consecutive United States presidents were all against Israeli settlements....Including 5 Republican occupants of the White House.
"Given that the $38 billion is over ten years, and has all sorts of stipulations that they use it to buy military hardware from US manufacturers, what exactly do you expect them to give back? We're mostly paying ourselves for future military supplies made by Americans and sent to Israel."
Nearly all direct military aid given by the United States to other nations has this same requirement. It's standard procedure within the United States military/industrial/congressional/security complex...It's partly why the United States government is the largest arms dealer in the world and is every year.
Top Dems turn on Kerry over Israel speech
Published December 29, 2016 - FoxNews.com
Democrat splits with Obama administration over Israel
Secretary of State John Kerry is under fire for his blunt speech taking aim at the Israeli government -- with criticism coming from not only congressional Republicans, but also from members of his own party.
The defiant secretary of state used the speech Wednesday to defend the decision by the Obama administration to abstain on a U.N. Security Council resolution calling Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem a violation of international law. The abstention allowed the measure to pass Friday – enraging the Israelis and drawing a strong rebuke from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
That abstention was opposed by a number of Democratic lawmakers, including incoming Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY., as well as Sens. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Chris Coons, D-Del., Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.
In his speech defending the abstention, Kerry rebuked what he called the “settler agenda,” which he claimed is hurting prospects for peace.
“Friends need to tell each other the hard truths, and friendships require mutual respect,” Kerry said. He called the current government the "most right-wing" in Israel's history and claimed its agenda is "driven by the most extreme elements."
Kerry’s speech was instantly met with a fresh wave of criticism from Republicans, with President-elect Donald Trump tweeting: “We cannot continue to let Israel be treated with such total disdain and disrespect.”
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., also took issue with the speech:
"Secretary Kerry’s speech today was at best a pointless tirade in the waning days of an outgoing administration. At worst, it was another dangerous outburst that will further Israel’s diplomatic isolation and embolden its enemies," he said.
However, Kerry’s words were also criticized by senior members of his own party, with Schumer accusing him of emboldening extremism.
“While Secretary Kerry mentioned Gaza in his speech, he seems to have forgotten the history of the settlements in Gaza, where the Israeli government forced settlers to withdraw from all settlements and the Palestinians responded by sending rockets into Israel,” Schumer said.
"While he may not have intended it, I fear Secretary Kerry, in his speech and action at the [United Nations], has emboldened extremists on both sides.”
Some high-profile Democrats, such as House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., backed Kerry. Pelosi called Kerry’s speech “a reaffirmation of America’s commitment to a secure, Jewish and democratic Israel, and a state for the Palestinians.”
But Rep. Eliot Engel, D-NY., accused Kerry on beating up on Israel while laying off the Palestinians.
“The two state solution is the only way to get peace but what Secretary Kerry did was just beat up on Israel in a disproportionate way [and] sort of gloss over the terrorism that the Palestinians have used throughout these years,” Engel, the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said on Fox and Friends Thursday.
Engel also said he would be prepared to work with President-elect Trump on strengthening the U.S. relationship with Israel in the future.
“I think support for Israel in Congress is bipartisan and should remain bipartisan and if President Trump is working with us on Israel, I’m perfectly happy to work with the President of the United States,” he said.
Other Democrats made positive remarks about the speech, while also noting their continued opposition to the abstention. Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md., said he shared a number of Kerry’s concerns, specifically on the lack of progress on a two-state solution, but said “I remain disappointed by the Obama Administration’s decision not to veto UN Security Resolution 2334 last week.”
House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., also offered cautious support for Kerry's speech while reiterating his opposition to the absention.
"The United States will have a role to play in helping both parties reach the goal of lasting peace, even if that involves highlighting uncomfortable facts on the ground, as Secretary Kerry did. Nonetheless, I continue to believe that the U.N. Security Council is the wrong forum for critiquing Israeli policies,” he said in a statement.

Evidence yet again that APAC is alive and well and has much of Congress by the balls, er, I mean wallet....Obama on the other hand, needs not a penny from one of the most powerful special interest lobby groups in Washington.
Come to think of it, nor does John Kerry given his public life in the beltway is probably over. Which is probably why he is publicly saying what not only most of Washington knows, but what most of the world also knows given many of Israel's most strident allies voted FOR the recent resolution.

Outside of a two state solution, as advocated by Kerry, there is no solution. The ultra-orthodox who hold power in Netanyahu's coalition are pro-settlement and opposed to any state for the Palestinians. A further complication is that the Palestinian population inside Israel and the occupied territories will outnumber Israelis by 2020. Then what? Does Israel simply institute apartheid laws and create a two tiered state?
Israel has a parliamentary system and its weakness is that in a multiparty system minorities frequently rule. This is the case in Israel.

Well said, Swifty......What is perhaps worse is that Nety is now pissing off even further Israel's most strident allies around the world with his actions of the past few days. Specifically Great Britain and France....
And all this while the Democrats eat their own.
At least obama will go out of office with a perfect record. Zero successes in foreign policy.

In terms of the timeline towards Judgment Day, the next thing that happens is Damascus being destroyed. By what? Well there is this war going on in Syria.
After that, then the war with Israel. The war will last 3 1/2 years at which point the anti-Christ will be a world leader and the only one able to stop both sides from continuing the war. It will take 3 1/2more years to bury all the dead over there. There will also be a war on Rome and the Vatican. Who will be fighting? Israel versus Arab states and countries.
HERE IS YOUR TIMELINE OF EVENTS
Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 War - Damascus Destroyed — Rather than the rapture, the next event in prophecy is a swift war in the Middle East between Israel and many of her Arab/Islamic neighbors. You do not need a Bible to tell you this as many secular sources expect one, due to the tensions between Israel and the Arabs and Iran (not Arab, but Persian). The concern over Iran's nuclear program has only added to this. The outcome of this war will be the destruction of Damascus and several other major Arab cities and regions, along with much devastation in Israel. Obviously, the attack has still not happened because Damascus remains a city to this day.
The Sixth Seal/Wormwood — If you read Revelation 6:12-17 carefully you will see that it depicts the entire population panicking and running for cover in response to signs in the heavens and a tremendous global earthquake on earth moving every mountain and island out of place. It is obvious that nothing like this has happened since the first century when it was written and when knowledge of the Lamb of God (named by those panicking: Rev 6:16) has arrived. By the way, this event is the very "sign of the end" that Jesus told his followers to watch for (Mt 24:7-8=Lk 21:10-
[This happens with the Earth-land changes many have written about. It happens during the magnetic pole shift. Up to one hundred miles inland on the US coast will be underwater. How far is that? In the south up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, up here it would be Pittsburgh. The west, most of California wlll break off and go into the sea due to an eruption of the caldera at Long Valley. When the shift happens, the equator will no longer be where it is now. It will migrate and settle in the Pacific Ocean off California, as it moves there will be massive amounts of water released from the ocean. Earthquakes will happen. Most of the fault lines are linked together. When the California stuff starts to happen, it will also trigger earthquakes in Nevada and Utah, those will trigger the fault line in Lawton, Oklahoma, which is connected to the New Madrid Fault Zone, which will have THREE major quakes at a level of 9+. That zone is connected to the East Coast fault line as well as the Ramapo Valley fault line (that takes out the east coast and NYC). The New Madrid Quakes will cause the Mississippi River to spread to 50 miles wide and then the changes along the Great lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway occur. Edgar Cayce wrote about all this back in the 1930's, but other scientists and psychics have all come up with the same maps, same conclusions, including governmental officials who quietly began moving factions of our govt. to Denver, Colorado for continuity of govt. once this happens).
Third Temple — Several passages describe a Third Temple on the Temple Mount, JERUSALEM with sacrifices going during the Great Tribulation (Rev 11:1-2; Mt 24:15; 2The 2:3-4). The Antichrist is even described as sitting in this end time temple as part of his declaration of himself as God (2Th 2:4). Obviously, there is as yet still no temple or even a construction project under way for one, nor sacrifices yet. Speaking of the construction, some say that everything is already being prepared for this temple and it can go up fast, in less than a year. Even if that's true, under the current political situation they still could not break ground on the Temple Mount without the Arabs approval or a strong belligerent response of opposition. The Arab control and power needs to be broken first, and that is not going to happen without a war, probably the future Psalm 83 war as above.
Abomination of Desolation — The Great Tribulation starts 30 days (as in the 1290 - 1260 days) after the Abomination of Desolation is stood up on the Temple Mount (Mk 13:14). The abomination refers to the Image of the Beast statue being erected for worship (Rev 13:14). At the same time the Third Temple sacrifices are halted by the Antichrist. This is another unfulfilled prophecy as only the Antichrist can accomplish this and he is not here yet.
Great Tribulation — This is the most obvious and well-known one. According to Daniel 9:27 = Matthew 24:21, Jesus must return after a period of "Great Tribulation." During this Great Tribulation, the Antichrist will rule over the world for 42 months (Rev 13). He will force all the unsaved (Rev 13:8) to take a mark in their right hand or forehead during that time. Plainly, we are not in the Great Tribulation and no mark of the beast has been issued yet.
The Rapture — Finally the rapture comes after the Great Tribulation, but clearly not to save anyone from any threat on earth as Christians suppose its purpose is. It arrives right on time for the faithful to be "rewarded" (Rev 11:18) with glorified eternal bodies (1Co 15:52) so they can then rule for the entire 1000 year Millennial Reign along with those in the first resurrection (Rev 20:4-5).
The Wrath of God/7 Bowls — The seven bowls of God's wrath immediately fall when the faithful leave temporarily to heaven (Rev 15:5-8) (for the marriage supper of the lamb), just as Jesus described in saying it would be just like as in the days of Noah and Lot when one are taken (the righteous) and one are left (the wicked).
The Second Coming — Finally, Jesus "returns to earth" on Yom Kippur/The Day of the LORD to fight the Battle of Armageddon (Rev 19:11-21). He brings back with him the raptured and resurrected saints from the marriage supper of the lamb (Rev 19:9) in heaven (Rev 15:5-8). Then they reign for the Millennium.
There are Islamic prophecies that corroborate these things also and has greater detail of events in Arab/Muslim nations as these things unfold. The good news is Jesus prevails with his band of followers (they will be Arabs helping him this time, Arabs and Afghans
. The rest of the world, the new world order will send 80,000 troops after him, it will be worse than pursuing Osama because the world at large will have been deceived.

Obama’s Sec. of State acknowledges screwing Israel… again:
Kerry admits US influenced UN resolution before vote
By Gabby Morrongiello (@gabriellahope_) • 12/28/16 12:50 PM
Secretary of State John Kerry suggested Wednesday that the United States had at least indirect input into the United Nations resolution condemning Jewish settlements, pushing for it to be crafted in a way that would not cause the United States to reject it.
"We made clear to others, including those on the Security Council, that it was possible that if the resolution were to be balanced and it were to include references to incitement and to terrorism, that it was possible that the U.S. would then not block it," Kerry said during an appearance at the State Department.
Israeli officials have accused the Obama administration of playing a role in the resolution. Following passage of the resolution last week, David Keyes, a spokesman for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, claimed officials had "ironclad information from sources in both the Arab world and internationally that [the resolution] was a deliberate push by the United States" and that U.S. officials "helped create the resolution in the first place."
But Kerry emphasized the resolution was not America's.
Subscribe today to get intelligence and analysis on defense and national security issues in your Inbox each weekday morning from veteran journalists Jamie McIntyre and Jacqueline Klimas.
"The U.S. did not draft or originate this resolution, nor did we put it forward," Kerry told reporters during remarks at the State Department. "It was drafted by Egypt, which is one of Israel's closest friends in the region and during the time of the process."
Kerry added, "Those attacks alongside claims of a U.S.-led conspiracy distract from the substance of what this is all about," Kerry said Wednesday.
"We reject the criticism that this vote abandons Israel," he added. "It is not this resolution that is isolating Israel, it is the permanent pursuit of settlement construction that risks making peace impossible."
Kerry claimed the United States' ultimate decision not to veto the resolution was "standard practice" and served to "preserve the two-state solution" between Israel and Palestine that is vital to ensuring a peaceful and democratic Jewish state.
'Not Welcome': Members at DC country club take swing at Obama over Israel stance
By Andrew O'Reilly - Published January 13, 2017 - FoxNews.com
Members at an exclusive Washington-area country club think President Obama is a real duffer when it comes to foreign policy – and the fairway furor could cost him one option for a post-presidency home course.
Though it’s unclear whether the outgoing president would even seek membership there, some at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., are preemptively trying to keep Obama out of the predominantly Jewish club amid complaints about his stance on Israel, according to reports. The members have sent a barrage of emails to club President Barry Forman and General Manager Brian Pizzimenti saying Obama is "not welcome."
The pushback stems from Obama’s decision last month not to have the U.S. veto a U.N. Security Council resolution criticizing Israeli settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank and from Secretary of State John Kerry’s speech two days later accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of undermining the possibility of a two-state solution.
“[President Obama] has created a situation in the world where Israel’s very existence is weakened and possibly threatened,” longtime member Faith Goldstein wrote in a Dec. 26 email obtained by the Washington Post. “He is not welcome at Woodmont. His admittance would create a storm that could destroy our club. ”
A Dec. 15 email to Forman from Bethesda attorney Marc B. Abrams reportedly said Obama’s stance on Israel should make it “inconceivable” that club leaders would even think of granting him membership.
“If you have views on this matter, I would urge you to make them known quickly,” Abrams wrote. “Timing is critical.”
During his eight years in the White House, the commander-in-chief racked up more than 300 days on the links with most rounds taking place at the course at Andrews Air Force Base or while on vacation in Hawaii.
But with the Obama family staying in D.C. until their daughter Sasha finishes high school, the outgoing president will need to find a new club in the D.C. area.
There has been no official indication Obama plans to apply for membership at Woodmont, but he has played at least four rounds at the course during his presidency and reports from last summer indicate Woodmont would be his club of choice when he leaves the Oval Office.
Representatives from Woodmont did not return FoxNews.com’s requests for comment, but the sentiments over the president’s policies in the Middle East appear far from unanimous among the club’s members and local Jewish activists.
“How cool is it that the first African American president of the United States may well be joining a country club originally established because Jews couldn’t get in anywhere else?” Ron Halber, the executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, said in an article published over the summer by the Jewish newspaper The Forward. Halber is not a member at Woodmont.
Jeffrey Slavin, the mayor of the Maryland town of Somerset and a legacy member at Woodmont, sent an email this week to Forman – and copied fellow Woodmont members and local Jewish leaders outside the club – in which he threatened to organize a mass membership cancellation campaign if the president were not welcomed at the club.
“This has gone way beyond the club now and this makes the Jewish community look bad,” Slavin told FoxNews.com. “The club needs to reach out to the president and say ‘if you want to apply for membership we’ll certainly accept you.’”
Woodmont was founded in 1913 at a time when Jews faced widespread discrimination in applying to country clubs in the D.C.-area. Since then, the club has grown to 460 acres and offers its members an opportunity to play golf and tennis as well as socialize just outside the Washington Beltway. The club has an $80,000 membership initiation fee and members pay $9,600 in annual dues.
“Woodmont was a place you could go when you weren’t welcome anywhere else,” Slavin said. “There are so many ironies here.”
Hey Muleman, I just read the same thing in Who Gives A Sh*t Magazine. It was really interesting. Thanks for sharing.
The crux of the problem is what rights do current day Israel and her citizen shave, what rights do current day Palestinians have.
The Israel in the Bible was Judea back in the day. Jesus was a member of the Essenes. The place where he had his last supper with his followers was in the Essene quarter. There was some very interesting things in a National Geographic magazine that came out recently. Not the least of which is that Jesus used to go to a place called Chorazin, and the Islamic Mahdi was foretold to come from the land of Khorasan (which is part of Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan) when he emerges, and Al Qaida and Isis all fight for the land of Khorasan to establish a Sharia compliant state. The prophecies about the Mahdi coming from Khorasan go back 1500 years.
Saudi Arabia is so outraged with world affairs, some of their text books no longer refer to the body of water at the Persian Gulf, they want to obliterate Persia, they call it the Arabian Gulf. Yet Persia was a part of history, like it or not. The original tribes left the land which is now called Israel and Palestine and scattered and migrated to other places. The Bani Israel went to Afghanistan, and India (near Kashmir).
God promised that all peoples would return to their ancestral lands, well that includes modern day Muslims who had to migrate from their lands do to wars and regional conflicts. Yet modern day Muslims do not want to share the land with modern day Israelis, so where should those people be sent to? Each side is claiming the same lands for their own peoples only.
And you expect Obama to solve this conflict that has went on thousands of years? He cannot, who could? I will pray for Mr. Trump, for he will have to deal with this.
In his final act of anti-Semitism obama sends more of the taxpayer's money to his Islamic Extremist Terrorist buddies:
US quietly sent $221M to Palestinians in Obama's last hours
Published January 24, 2017 - FoxNews.com
Obama administration sent $221 million to Palestinians
Officials said Monday that the Obama administration-- in its waning hours-- defied Republican opposition and quietly released $221 million to the Palestinian Authority that GOP members of Congress had been blocking.
A State Department official and several congressional aides told The Associated Press that the outgoing administration formally notified Congress it would spend the money Friday morning.
The official said former Secretary of State John Kerry had informed some lawmakers of the move shortly before he left the State Department for the last time Thursday.
The aides said written notification dated Jan. 20 was sent to Congress just hours before Donald Trump took the oath of office.
In addition to the $221 million for the Palestinians, the Obama administration also told Congress on Friday it was going ahead with the release of another $6 million in foreign affairs spending, including $4 million for climate change programs and $1.25 million for U.N. organizations, the congressional aides said.
The aides and the State Department official weren't authorized to speak publicly on the matter and demanded anonymity.
Congress had initially approved the Palestinian funding in budget years 2015 and 2016, but at least two GOP lawmakers — Ed Royce of California, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Kay Granger of Texas, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee — had placed holds on it over moves the Palestinian Authority had taken to seek membership in international organizations.
Congressional holds are generally respected by the executive branch but are not legally binding after funds have been allocated.
The Obama administration had for some time been pressing for the release of the money for the Palestinian Authority, which comes from the U.S.
Agency for International Development and is to be used for humanitarian aid in the West Bank and Gaza, to support political and security reforms as well as help prepare for good governance and the rule of law in a future Palestinian state, according to the notification sent to Congress.
The Palestinian funding is likely to draw anger from some in Congress as well as the Trump White House.
Trump has vowed to be a strong supporter of Israel and has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Washington next month.
Some of Trump’s incoming administration has been split on whether to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.
The Washington Post noted that most of the world doesn’t recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. East Jerusalem is also considered “occupied territory,” which Palestinians hope to call their capital if a two-state solution is ever reached.
South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Trump’s U.N. ambassador, said Wednesday that she would back the embassy move, while Trump’s Defense Secretary nominee retired Marine Gen. James Mattis said he would “stick to U.S. policy” regarding Jerusalem.
Trump’s next ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, supports Israeli settlements and other changes to U.S. policies in the region.
Friedman said he looked forward to carrying out his duties from "the U.S. embassy in Israel's eternal capital, Jerusalem," even though the embassy is in Tel Aviv. Trump advisers have said that the president-elect will follow through on his call for moving the embassy.
