Everyone will say that being anti-Israel is not being anti-Semitic.

This is true - but BO is an anti-Semite - despite having huge support from the Jewish Left. A sneaky underhanded move that he didn't have the balls to take before the election

The question re: the settlements is a long and complicated one that we surely would not reach a consensus on here.

I am merely talking about Obama's clandestine manipulation of the situation and reversal of US-Israeli relationships. According to Israeli intelligence Obama not only abstained but spearheaded the proposal behind the scenes. He didn't have the guts to come out and state this is my opinion.

The US stance on the Israeli/Palestine conflict has always been not to recognize/back Palestine until Palestine accepts the existence of Israel. The theory being that it is impossible for Israel to negotiate with the Palestinians unless the Palestinians acknowledge that Israel is a country

Be sure to watch Kerry try to worm his was out of this fiasco during his "major speech" tomorrow.

Kerry is trying hard to catch up with Hillary Clinton as the most unaccomplished Sec. of State in U.S. history.
Some folks will notice tomorrow that his boss, obama the failure, will not be standing by Kerry's side.

The question re: the settlements is a long and complicated one that we surely would not reach a consensus on here.

There is nothing complicated here. Israel is colonizing the West Bank and this is objected to by the entire United Nations.

I am merely talking about Obama's clandestine manipulation of the situation and reversal of US-Israeli relationships.

This is nonsense and an attempt to rewrite history to conform with how Netanyahu sees it.

The position of every US president since Carter is that the settlements are the issue and Israel keeps thumbing its nose at the US and keeps building them. That is what happened here and the Israelis have not stopped building.

According to Israeli intelligence Obama not only abstained but spearheaded the proposal behind the scenes. He didn't have the guts to come out and state this is my opinion.

The document appeared on an Egyptian website and the US disputes its contents.

You probably should do some research before spouting off on here about who has balls.

The US stance on the Israeli/Palestine conflict has always been not to recognize/back Palestine until Palestine accepts the existence of Israel. The theory being that it is impossible for Israel to negotiate with the Palestinians unless the Palestinians acknowledge that Israel is a country

The Palestinians recognized Israel in 1993.

Many commentators, including this author, have carefully picked apart the myriad problems involved with Israel's new demand that the Palestinians formally recognize it as a "Jewish state." But at least one of its most problematic aspects has been significantly under-examined and underappreciated. The new demand negates, both in effect and intention, the greatest of Palestinian concessions, their 1993 recognition of the State of Israel.

You do know that a sizeable percentage of Palestinians are Christian and they live on land that they have occupied since the time of Jesus? One can say that what the Romans started the Republicans will finish and totally destroy the Christian presence in the Holy Land.

And what did Jesus say about the new billionaires you are now worshipping getting into heaven?

Under Israeli law, West Bank settlements must meet specific criteria to be legal.[113] In 2009, there were approximately 100[89] small communities that did not meet these criteria and are referred to as illegal outposts.

By Israeli law, privately owned land can not be part of a settlement, unless the land in question has been confiscated for military purposes.[113] In 2006 Peace Now acquired a report, which it claims was leaked from the Israeli Government's Civil Administration, indicating that up to 40 percent of the land Israel plans to retain in the West Bank is privately owned by Palestinians.

The current administration hates Israel so much that they sold them F-35 stealth fighter jets.

"True dat", but the bigger question is whose lap will Trump prefer - Netanyahu or Putin. Maybe Trump will tweet us the answer in January.

There may be some basis for the first statement but there are Christians through out the Middle East, including a very large population among Palestinians both in Palestine and in exile. You seem to only care about using Christians for political purposes against Obama. That's very selective.

I am sure the Angels at the Pearly Gates will have the intelligence to be able see billionaires as rich men.

Now you have changed your statement about billionaires to "rich men". A statement that evolves discredits the statement.

Kerry rips ‘settler agenda’ in speech defending UN vote, Israeli PM fires back
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/28/kerry-defends-us-role-in-uns-israel-censure-amid-backlash.html

This Two State Solution will never work as long as one side is sworn to destroy the other.

The Palestinian government refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist.

End of the discussion.

The State of Palestine recognized Israel in 1993. Israel has not recognized the State of Palestine.

Nope. They recognized it in 1993, days prior to the Oslo Accords.

What you are referring to is Israel's more recent demand to be recognized as a "Jewish State", which Netanyahu insisted that Israel be recognized as in 2009. It may seem like semantics, but to Palestinian refugees, it could mean giving up their claim for their homeland. For Palestinian citizens of Israel, it could potentially justify removal. It would all be very silly if it weren't all so tragic.

With regards to the last post and the response to mine above it is more than semantics.

Israel was for a two state solution in 1948. It was refused. Since the Sinai war in 67 it has been almost 50 years of aggression against Israel followed by Israel returning land. Not all I agree. So Israel has increased somewhat in size in response to wars started not by that country. The US annexed large parts of its territory by starting its own hostilities.

There needs to be bilateral negotiation in the mid east. Seems that there is a difference as to which side is the impediment.

Yeah; the US gives Israel money,. It is the only democracy in the Mid East. The only ally we can trust.

So plan a trip to all the countries in the Mid East. Walk down the street and say "F88k you your mother and your government." Guarantee you that only after returning from Israel will you still have the need for a hat

Crap.
In 1993 they recognized Israel under PLO conditions, interpretations and borders.
And then of course launched thousands of rockets in to Israel.

would peace come to the borders of israel with a 2 state solution? would peace and the start of a 2 state solution start with settlements? would israel be easier to strike with a stronger palestine? would israel be safer taking over the disputed territory?

i understand the questions and have watched for as many years as the rest of you.

this is still way below my pay grade.....that full scale war is not happening with current circumstances......is a good thing.

i'll let the experts go back at it now

In typical Obama fashion, this will be just another in a line of actions that boomerangs on him and creates more havoc than intended result.

Admitting that the "two-state" solution is a fraud and an impossibility given the long record of Palestinian abuses, all this will achieve will be swift, numerous, and potentially serious actions against the UN from Congress and the new President. If Trump had his focus on NATO, it will now turn first to the UN, and to de-legitimizing, de-funding, and de-fanging them at all costs.

Even many in Obama's own party have come out against it, ensuring further downgrade of his legacy within his party, amid all the other wreckage he leaves them with.

So nice going Barry, in your petty vindictiveness you're going to weaken the UN, force the new President to take even stronger measures in support of Israel, upset important constituent groups in your own party (why would the Jewish vote stay with the D's?), and leave another questionable action for history to judge your legacy by.

Looking forward to the future interviews where he claims none of this was his fault.

Oh come now, you understand that Israel plays a pivotal role in the End Times. And even before then, the New World Order gang cannot have a Middle East war destabilizing the entire region without conflict there, so if everyone was getting along (Israel and Palestine), then something surely would happen to eff it up. It's like what we are doing with Russia now, blaming them for influencing the elections, and then telling them we will punish them with sanctions, and possibly cyber attacks, when the cyber attacks came from China. Somebody wants to start a problem with Russia, hey if we are at war, then no new President takes office on January 20th, that's one convenient way to stop Trump and they have been trying any and all ways to do that.

Kerry's Speech

Netanyahu's response

Kerry says that a two state solution is the only way for peace. Well God himself said HE would not accept two states. It's in the Bible. Palestine will not accept the Jews having a right to have any of the land in Jerusalem.

Kerry also says that the US will not bring any more resolutions to the UN Security Council.

Trump will have to work on the problem. He needs a Quran, A Torah, and a Bible because the problems he will have to mediate require an understanding of Muslim issues, as well as Jewish and Christians also because Christians are being marginalized and pushed around the way the Palestinians are. The Catholics are a group originated in Rome, Roman Catholics. Who was it that crucified Jesus? The Romans. Oh but that was during another time, well the next big conflict is between Jews, Catholics, Christians and Muslims so the world better start realizing it, and the others who have no religion don't want God to have any place in the world at all. These problems are not just between Palestine and Israel, it is a Holy War.
