The legendary Hot Tuna return to New York City this November for their not-to-be-missed annual Beacon Theatre musical bash. Celebrating Jorma Kaukonen's 75th birthday, Hot Tuna will deliver two nights of roaring electric sets filled with innovation, camaraderie and fun along with a star-studded line up of musicians and friends to commemorate the occasion.
At the Beacon Theatre, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell, vocalist Teresa Williams and drummer Justin Guip. Numerous special guests for the November concerts will be announced in the coming months.
Tuna fans will remember the electricity in the air with previous birthday celebrations for Jack in 2014 and Jorma in 2010 captured on DVD, which featured special guests such as Marty Balin, Steve Earle, Warren Haynes, Pete Sears, John Hammond, Cindy Cashdollar, Bill Kirchen, G.E. Smith, Lincoln Schleifer and Steve Kimock among others. 2015 promises to be just as memorable.
From their days playing together as teenagers to their current acoustic and electric blues, Jorma and Jack, the core members of Hot Tuna, have celebrated over fifty years of playing together. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and Jefferson Airplane founding members create a propelling sound, cruising through new songs, old songs, traditional songs and instrumentals. With Kaukonen's inventive finger-picking guitar work and Casady's full-driving bass lines, Hot Tuna delivers soulful Americana music bursting with creative energy.
