That's a pretty fair comparison - the intelligence & abilities of Donald Trump versus a rock.

Haha!...His "intelligence & abilities" were enough to defeat good old what's her name.

Do you think the American people would be bamboozled twice in a row if Trump, the con runs again? Highly doubtful.

Look at all the GOP Congressmen choosing not to seek reelection. Got any idea why they are not seeking another term? You think it has anything to do with Trump's lack of popularity and the disdain for a guy still in the low / mid 30's which are record lows for prez approvals? He's quite the anchor on the GOP.

Thought this gave good overview of the competitiveness in the House. In terms of what they consider "competitive districts", this piece shows 13 Republican and 10 Democrats retiring. Either way, it is a high number and I bet some of these Republicans would rather go out while in office rather than ending their careers with a tough loss. Mid term elections are historically difficult for the incumbent party of the White House anyway.

The below article is more recent & numbers larger for GOP.

The NYT story is also states 30 Congressmen, but there are only 13 in what they call "competitive districts", nearly an equal number of Democrats retiring in what they consider "competitive". Competitive based off of what the Presidential election results where.

But thank you for your link, it includes Governors, which the Times story does not. Are there any Democrat Governors retiring or running for higher office?

Of all the ways to emphasize how smart Trump has been the past couple years, you choose "because he beat Hillary"?

X2

Because that's all they have. It's similar to the way Trump conducts himself several times a day, if not weekly. Constantly he's still reminding of us that he won. Doesn't the fool get it that people realize it? He probably does this to reassure himself, & it takes him back to his biggest thrill in life - all things to Trump are binary - winning vs losing.

He also tends to blame Obama regularly. Example - blaming Obama yesterday for skipping his planned trip to England, one our best partners...until Trump alienated that country. Fact is they don't want Trump over there.

Trump probably blows a gasket knowing that his popularity pales in comparison to Obama's.

Yup. Any time his poll numbers dip, he blasts Obama and Hillary on Twitter with name-calling, and all is fine in the world again among his supporters. As long as they get to see the bashing, they are happy. Sad!

Trying to remember if any of our previous presidents bragged about winning an election 14 months later. Nope, can't think of any. Most actually focused on accomplishments during their presidency or were focusing on work that needed to be done.

He plans to run, and his re-election slogan will be KEEP AMERICA GREAT. Because he fully plans to deliver on his campaign theme and promise to Make America Great Again, and if he can do that in 4 years, he will be re-elected.

If Kim ran, she would get the female vote, and with her marriage to Kanye, she might get a lot of the black votes also. She is a businesswoman. Remember her on The Apprentice? I don't think she has international experience to deal with national security type issues, but she may have experience with trade deals due to her business connections.

Of course America will be great - it already was, is, and will be! Saying "Make America Great Again" is just another way of saying "America Sucks".

Foreign policy wise, we do suck, most of the middle east does not like us, they just don't complain much because we keep throwing money at them. Even Pakistan with the 300+ million we throw at them keeps quiet. We need to stop supporting the world, just create good trade agreements and let other countries be sovereign and manage themselves. That won't happen with the American bribe money being flung all over the globe.

Look at what each of the countries produces, make trade agreements; beyond that if they want to buy things from us, let them, but manufacture those things here. Stop lusting and coveting the natural resources from Balochistan, Pakistan, the minerals from Afghanistan (minerals and gold, plus oil from the Caspian Sea), oil from Libya, Iraq. If Libya and the North African union countries want to have their own currency, which is what Qaddafi was trying to implement when we 'looted/ liberated" his country, LET THEM.

Venezuela is doing this now, with the backing of Iran and Russia, and what was our pre-emptive answer to their desires of doing that? The coincidental oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, that prevented BP Oil from being the first one to tap the vein that led to the Venezuelan oil.

Saudi has oil, as do other counties, if we acted with decency and fairness, we could make good deals, the price of oil here would not be as high as it is now. We could stop fracking and ruining our country. Iran does not want to be at war with us, they have oil too, Russia has oil.

Why can't we stop trying to rule the world, and instead become fair trading partners? What is our foreign policy? Sanction and piss everybody off. That is not diplomacy.
