Trump has given Hilary the best campaign message she could ask for. "KEEP THAT BAT SH_T CRAZY MANIAC TRUMP OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE".

Vote for me because my opponent sucks hasn't worked very well in the past several presidential elections. But who knows.

It worked pretty well in the last one.

But wait, I thought Obama was the worst president in history, which means if "it worked pretty well in the last one" were true then we'd have President Romney running for re-election right now.

Obama won. "Vote for me because my opponent sucks" worked pretty well for him.

Nope, sorry. The fact that it didn't work for Romney says a lot because he was running against the worst president ever, or so we keep getting told over and over and over (and over and over) again. I guess that message just didn't resonate with enough voters.

It didn't work for Romney because he didn't try it. He went after Obama's record some, but when he wasn't he treated his campaign like a game of patty cake. Maybe he was afraid of being called a racist. Who knows? But compared to Obama his campaign had the teeth of a jellyfish. At virtually no point of his run did I think he would win.

Funny how people can look at a campaign and have such very different takeaways. In any case, the larger point I was trying to make by throwing it back at you is that they ALL do it. Every. Single. One. At times they all say "vote for me because I can do this that and the other thing" and at other times (or at the same time) they also all say "vote for me because my opponent sucks for doing/being this that and the other thing". Plenty of people pull the lever for a candidate not as a vote in favor of a candidate but as a vote against the other candidate. Can we at least agree on that?

Totally true.

And I was totally against Hillary long before I was against Trump.

So was I. For the past 20+ years I've had the feeling that both Clinton's probably belong in jail. So now I am in a quandary because it is clear that Trump is so antithetical to what this country is about that we'd be better off with Hillary. There is no way I can vote for Trump. The only question is do I hold my nose and vote for Hillary or do I vote for Gary Johnson knowing that he cannot win? The only reason I may vote for Hillary is because a vote for Johnson is not an effective vote against Trump. Any way you look at it this election is going to suck.

The answer to the question may be determined by whether or not you live in a swing state. Pretty sure some of those that voted for Ralph Nader in Florida in 2000 now regret that protest vote.

Its unfair to judge Donald Trump alongside career politicians who are polished and practice political correctness all the time. So he made some comments that sound inappropriate and now hes being painted with the same brush as David Duke and Don Imus. So waste your vote on some liberaterian clown because you want freedom to smoke whatever. Now is not the time to chill out with a fat doobie. if Hillary wins, the country will never recover.

Indeed! So let's put him in charge of the world's largest economy, the world's largest military and the launch codes to boot!

Say whatever you want about HRC, but giving Trump a pass because he isn't "polished" is a load of rubbish. He attacks on the judge are not about political correctness, it is much deeper than that...it is about racism and not respecting the seperation of powers as laid out in the constitution. He may not have been running for office, but he's been in politics and PR for 30 years. He even made up a fake alter ego as a publicist to engage with the media on his own behalf as someone other than himself, and that was nearly 25 years ago. Point is, he's been in the public eye for a lot longer than most politicians running their first campaign and is no novice when it comes to dealing with the media and messaging. Unfair to judge, what a hoot!!!

I'm curious, in what way?

You want more war and death? You'll get it. She's Dick Cheney in a pantsuit.

More crony capitalism for the corporations that are so revered? Guaranteed.

Illegal aliens? Her husband deported more illegals than anyone.

She'll allow Muslims to enter the country. She'll appoint Hispanic judges. She probably won't build a wall, and if she does it won't be a great wall and the taxpayers will have to pay for it because she doesn't know how to make a deal with the Mexicans.

Trump is used to making big decisions under pressure, he's overseen gigantic projects, he's converted vision and imagination into reality, he's created jobs, he's met payrolls, he has administrative talent, he knows how to build a team, he knows how to bargain and negotiate at the high stakes table.

You don't have to like him to realize and admit he as an impressive skill set. He has the potential to be a big surprise on the upside. I'm willing to give him a chance.

It isn't easy to defend Trump. I get it. Try this, he is an expert on filing for bankruptcy. And he is very good at filing frivolous lawsuits. Hey, you gotta work with what you got.

if Hillary wins, the country will never recover.

If Hillary wins, when she leaves office it will be no different than any other president. List them - Nixon, Carter, Bush, Bush, Bill Clinton, Eisenhower, and even the President who Trump said did not have a real birth certificate and who Trump suggested is a Muslim, etc.

The sun will rise the day after her term just like under all the others before her.

The sky will be blue just like under all the others before her.

There will be good and bad - both nationally and internationally just like under all the others before her.

There will be up stock markets & down stock markets just like under all the others before her.

Time moves forward and so does the USA.

One core fact overlooked is that all empires that have been where we are have eventually crumbled, usually at great cost to lives and property. Time will move on, but there's no guarantee the USA as most of us have experienced it will.

Five........five?

Predicted response, totally expected.

How many world class entrepreneurs never have a project go belly up? Very few, if any. Trump has been involved in hundreds if not thousands of ventures by now, yet you imply that five misses make him a failure or somehow diminish his talent?

I think you'd be better off trying to sell the racism bit..

I agree. The real question is what version of America moves forward? The undisputable number one world power with a dynamic economy that provides jobs, growth, and opportunity for upward mobility; or one that leads from behind and is in steady decline due to a stagnant no-growth economy?

We could and should be so much better off. We're running out of time in getting this thing turned around.

But this comment begs the question, out of 18 or so Republican candidates, many of which were strong, we have to ask why this generous consideration and understanding that you demonstrate was blessed upon the demagogue, and not given to the serious candidates with political experience offering viable solutions to our problems?

The US will not continue as it is now. Economists say the financial collapse will occur somewhere between October thru December (last fiscal quarter) of at the latest January 2017. Hillary does not know how to fix those things. IF Bill gets involved, maybe he could do something. He is smart enough to and that may be the only hope people have. He turned it around last time in 1993. She did say he will be involved in it. Is it too far gone now?

Trump - we would need to see concrete budget plans on how he plans to manage the current disasters, if he has a good plan, then maybe America gives him a chance for change.

Rhetoric from either side will not cut it. We need specific budgetary solutions and they will have to come up with them otherwise it is just the same old same ole.

Gina,

Is it time to dump stocks? What do you recommend? Time to buy gold?

You been reading up on Kondratieff Waves and taking it at face value? I suggest you might switch over to astrological market cycle analysis to predict economic collapses. That seems a better fit.

I'm not jumping on the gold bandwagon, there is a stock called ABB which has nothing to do with the Allman Brothers Band, that has performed well in the long term. 😉 Cool
