yo, jszfunk
though an Indy fan and thus, you must pay the price of inviting the Patriots to your humble environ Sunday night by getting your lunch handed to you, absolutely awesome that you posted your grandmother.
very cool, my man.
and with Stephen that I'm somewhat technologically stunted and still not with the program, otherwise I'd post pics of Secreteriat, Bill Russell and Muhammad Ali.

You guys RAWK -- straight up/hands down fo sure --
that's the one fanfrom71
-- it's in his autobiography from 1970 or so too -- way cool -- the Hawk in 1968 became almost as popular as Yaz was in 67 -- had a great year in an othrwise n/g season, was colorful, wore the Nehru suits, hung out w/Derek Sanderson/Joe Namath, drove the decked-out dune buggy etc -- there was even a song (I think) on the radio about the Hawk
it was a pissah the day he was traded to Indians April 69 -- shah-kah -- fans picketed Fenway in protest, w/placards & stuff -- he was pissed & retired for a few days, but was talked back -- ya the Hawk was all the shit in 68 for the Sawx
Yep that's Rocky in all his glory 😮 -- he looks cooler in his Tribe uni no doubt about it
becksbolero -- awesome -- then & now -- in his 1st stint w/Tribe -- it rips b
I hear ya bro (piacere) -- I'll learn how sometime too -- can't top this stuff tho, awesome
good weekend

He & Leon Gray -- they were formidable -- many of those teams were -- Randy Vataha 😮

Denny McLain

One of the three Hannah boys that played for the Bear at Alabama! Also a great wrestler - and could have probably made the Olympics as a shot-putter if that had been his goal.

Sports..
Nolan!
Donnie Baseball
Jack Lambert
And TB!
From history..
Patton.. Ol Blood and Guts
And Maj Dick Winters ( if you dont know about him look him up! )
Musically, far too many, but one stands out for me.

Lee Roy Jordan

^^^ Lee Roy Jordan - another Bear Bryant pupil!

I think he's quoted as saying Jordan is the best football player he ever coached. Is that correct?

I'm not sure about that quote, but I have it on real good authority that in Bryant's final years - as his attention span was decreasing - during tough games, when the defense was getting pounded, he'd shout, "PUT LEE ROY IN THERE!"
EDIT: I think Bear did say Lee Roy was the best - but he used superlatives to describe others similarly: "Joe Namath - the best athlete I ever coached ... . He did once ay about Lee Roy, "if the running back stays within the two sidelines - Lee Roy will get him!".

Warren Spahn getting loose at the Polo Grounds.

Floyd Little
6,323 Career Rushing Yards
54 TD's

Awesome -- that shot of Barry Sanders shows why he was so good -- speed, great cutting ability -- he was one of the best
& Floyd Little -- Broncos star from the AFL days -- great photo of an underrated RB -- AFL runners like him, Buffalo's Cookie Gilchrist & the Boston Patriots Jim Nance -- they were good players
& Spahnie -- the greatest lefty of them all

Sam McDowell
141-134, 3.15
2,453 K's

Thanks man -- as an Indians fan growing up, Sudden Sam was the man, & this is an esp. good shot of the flame-throwing lefty -- among the Ted Abernathys, Bob Tiefenaurs, Dick Donovans, Jack Kralicks & other Indians hurlers of then, Sudden Sam stood out like the smoke curling off his fastball

First caught Steve at the Boarding house in S.F. probably around 1973. He had brown hair, wore jeans and a white jacket...Moved to Fullerton to attend College and drove up to L.A./O.C. to see him every time he performed in these areas...I can remember opening acts, fellow magician/card trickster Ricky Jay and the band, "Liberty" ...Still my comedy hero.

"Hey, are you small?"
"No, man, I'm tall, I'm tall."
"Well, I'm going to have to measure you."
They have this test...it's a balloon. If you can get inside of it, they know. You're small.
Let's Get Small was one of the first records I ever owned...brilliant, and pretty much no curse words! It even won a grammy.
