I get up early this morning to go to the gym because I am a good Irishman and don't want to have anything in my way of beer and corned beef after work. I am riding down the highway in the rain in the dark and my windshield wiper just goes flying off my car while I am doing 70 on rte. 128.
I can't see and I am stretching my neck to the passenger side to see out the window. Well I guess it is the luck of the Irish that I didn't hit a pot hole and made it to the gym and then got the new wiper for $7 installed at the dealership near by. In my 35 plus years of driving I have never seen a wiper blade just take off like that. I am just glad it wasn't snow or I might have been f&?#ed

Maybe the wiper was upset because you didn’t have cabbage on the menu.

Glad you made it safely!

Are you sure you weren't drunk on the way to the gym?. Who has someone else install wiperblades?, a
little old granny? Come on! 😛

I do Pops, ever since I had a wiper motor die on me in Times Square in the rain on a Friday night during rush hour, while on my way to the Capital Theatre in Jersey for a Rossington Collins and Henry Paul Band show, I haven't been quite been the same since. We kept going with no wipers in the rain, but those wiper blades were only an omen of worse to come. We get there, and they had sh**tty Press Passes for us, wtf? (that was Henry's fault). Then while we were at the show somebody broke into my car, stole a jacket, a bottle of J.D. and a road map, but was polite enough to lock the door on his way out. All I could conclude is somebody must have had problems worse than we did.

Lotta bad memories attached to the windshield wiper incident.

On the plus side, the show was great.

Regardng your troubles, I think that people putting them up during the snow storms with the wind moving them around might make them more susceptible to breaking and flying off because of the ice and wind. Just a hypothesis.
