Actually the early debates are totally irrelevant. In fact this wasn't even a debate. It was entertainment, nothing more.
These debates told us nothing. It was nothing but a regurgitation of the same GOP dogma we already knew.
Obama is to blame for everything. Hillary will be even worse. Fear mongering about illegal immigrants and ISIS, cutting taxes and making up the difference by cutting entitlements for the poor, gutting agencies like the EPA to satisfy their fat cat campaign contributors, Spending more money on an already bloated military. etc, etc.
The only reason to even watch is to see what ignorant nonsense Trump will say.
Well they told us things about what they think. I thought it was cheap shots to complain about Hillary when she is not in the Presidential job now.
Stuff that I got out the debate:
Cruz:
We are 18 trillion in debt.
He wants to use the IRS to "persecute religious liberty" [his intent is Isis but the effects would be far reaching since we are a nation of religious freedom].
Wants to cancel the Iranian deal.
Wants to move the US embassy from Israel to Jerusalem.
He authored Katie's law for those killed/injured by illegal aliens [undocumented people who sneak across our borders], but the Senate blocked a a vote being taken on the measure because of their differing opinion on immigration.
He wrote the Expatriate Terrorism Act which says if someone goes to the Middle East to join Isis they forfeit their citizenship and will not be allowed back into the US to do any operations/attacks here.
RUBIO:
He himself owed $100,000 in student loans, so he understands how hard it is to pay that back.
Wants to repeal Dodd Frank legislation.
Immigration: He believes every human being is entitled to protection under our Constitution if they are born here, regardless of if they cannot issue a birth certificate to the Mother because she does not have proper papers when she crosses the border illegally to give birth here.
He favors a fence on the border.
He wants an exit/entry tracking system and e verify.
CHRISTIE:
Economics/Finance Experience: Balanced a 11 billion dollar deficit, Cut 29 billion in spending and 800 programs in his state to do that. He cut business taxes 2.3 billion dollars and created 192,000 private sector jobs in 5 1/2 year.
Social Security?Medicare: Wants to phase in raising the retirement age by one month for the next 25 years to save money needed by the program.
Those who make $200,000 year in retirement income and have 4-5 million in liquid assets do not need it, they should not collect. Make Social Security a needs based pay out.
Pointed out that Social Security and Medicare were robbed of 700 billion dollars to pay for Obamacare. Will repeal Obamacare.
WALKER: Defunded Planned Parenthod in his state 4 years ago.
Reduced unemployment from 8% to 4.6%
HUCKABEE:
Wants to invoke Constitutional Amendments 4, 5 to declare babies as people and outlaw abortion.
He said that Wall Street has Washington access and controls the political climate.
Wants a Fair tax absed on consumption.
Fund Social Security and Medicare by consumption tax, says that way illegals, prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers ALL have to start paying into it, they don't now.
RE: Iran deal, says we gave up the anywhere, anytime, anyplace inspections that were part of the original deal.
KASICH: Expanded Medicaid in his state 1.4 billion in 18 months
Wants to rehab prisoners to reduce recidivism.
Took his state from an 8 billion dollar deficit to a 2 billion dollar surplus, cut 5 million in taxesand created 350,000 new jobs.
TRUMP:
Will build a wall to keep illegals out.
Will privatize health care and not have state borders, you can shop around for a good plan.
Said if the republicans do not give him the party nomination, he will consider running on another party line.
BUSH:
He will get rid of Obamacare
he will put E verify and eliminate sanctuary cities for illegals. No Amnesty.
He will issue vouchers for education.
Promises 4% job growth.
Will fix the tax code.
PAUL:
Will not allow laws the violate our Constitution.
Favors the fence at the border.
Will stop the NSA spying on people.
Will put in a flat tax across the board.
Will stop funding Isis thru funding other groups.
Thinks it is ridiculous that we borrow money from China and then give it to other countries as foreign aid.
Believes in old fashioned investigative work, get warrants to find out if someone is doing terror activities, stop illegal searches.
Will defund Planned Parenthood. Pro Life.
CARSON:
He's likable, but they called him out on his knowledge of foreign policy. He's too nice to be a Commander in Chief. He will not get the part's election. He would be good in a Cabinet position.
