President Obama's job approval is in the positive range on most polls. It could be that the 70% you mention are frustrated with congress. On the whole Trump appeals to voters without a college education and I think many in this group have suffered as they were unprepared to take higher tech jobs when they emerged. Trump has promised to rebuild the infrastructure which would help this group and that is good. The politicians who will object to this kind of government spending--and it will be massive--are republicans.
The smug liberals are living happy lives because they had the skill sets and the education that was needed to participate in the 21st century. I do think the people who lost their jobs should be given another chance but hopefully they will pay more attention to their children's educational needs this time around.
