Celts have some spunk. Not enough to talent to win a championship yet, but I think that might not be far off. Their coach is the real deal.

We can handle Cleve and/or Tor or anyone else in east
I like our chances if it's us & GSW in finals -- we rested Crowder against them
PS, thanks robslob! Your guys are an immense team -- knowing they got SA & possibly us to deal with, the Warriyz will be motivated to be at their best
I disagree w/Scottie Pippen, he's quoted in a story on ESPN that "we would've swept the Warriors"
Let's go Celts

Depends on which rules they play by, today's or 1995s.

Let's go Celts

Even though I believe that the Bulls of the '90s were superior to the Warriors (again, ONE championship vs. SIX? Huh?) I would also have to disagree with this. Anyone who was around Chicago when the Bulls were winning six knows that Pippen was never known for his "intellect"....the guy has lost MILLIONS in bad business deal after bad business deal and true to form, it's always somebody else's fault. He has also hung around the team WAY too long, like that creepy guy that graduated from (or was kicked out of) college seven years ago and still sleeps in the TV room of the local frat house.

Celts got a look at the Kobe of old last night -- he's had a great career & is a 1st ballot HOFer --
they still have Ron Artest>Metta World Peace -- dang
we play each of those three teams (Miami, Atl, Charlotte) down the stretch -- that's our pre-playoffs, w/3rd place on the line -- let's go Celts

Warriors played well last night, Curry 39 -- omgosh they & SA in west finals -- that is more than the real shit right there -- they both play in rarified air

OK Spurs..............you wanna double team me at the three point line? I'll just work it inside and still get 27! -Steph Curry

You think Andrew Bogut isn't important to this team? Then you missed last night's game!

"The rest of the league just saw that the Warriors have that look in their eye again." -Tim Kawakami, SJ Mercury News, 4-8-16

Amazing team, amazing record. Of course it won't mean much if they don't win it all (I should know, I'm a Pats fan, 18-1) 😛

That's pretty damn funny gondicar. And I think we are deep enough and well coached enough to sweep them even if Curry misses the rest of the series.

Not surprised at all that Houston stole one in Houston with Curry sidelined. Even then, we nearly pulled it out last night. Warriors were VERY smart to give Curry a few more days healing time. Houston took one last year in the Western Conference Championship when we beat them 4-1, and that was with Curry in the lineup the entire series.

Oh by the way..............how's that Boston - Atlanta series coming along?

I'm sure you know the score in that one. Also note that I didn't predict a Boston sweep (or that they would even win the series)...the way they played down the stretch and now with the loss of Avery Bradly it would disappoint me greatly but not shock me at all if the Celtics get swept or lose in 5. We'll see what happens in game 3 tonight.

Congrats to Stephen and Gondicar, just watched Celts even their series with Atlanta, 2-2.

Isaiah Thomas has been completely out of his mind; also saw the last game when he had 42. Paul Millsap of the Hawks was brilliant as well, he had 45 today. He had a rough first three games, though, he was due. I saw him a couple different times when he was with Louisiana Tech. They were in San Jose State's conference so they played here once per year. To be honest, Millsap didn't stand out all that much. BUT............he led the NCAA in rebounding for three consecutive years. That's really an incredible stat, and he's backed it up in the NBA. When he gets it rolling, he's practically unstoppable.

Warriors were tied at half today with the Rockets and Curry sidelined for the second half. So what do they do? Simply blow Houston RIGHT out of the gym. They were out of synch in the first half because Curry was obviously not his normal self. But it just proves once again what an enormous talent level exists on this team. Oh Yeah: Without their superstar, other than some of the first half, the Warriors set an NBA playoff record today for 3 pointers made in one game: Twenty-one.

Little surprised rob does not seem more worried about Curry. I told a friend yesterday Curry is not crying because he can't come back in a game, he is crying because he knows its more than a minor thing. I expect Warriors will get bad news. I hope not. While not a Curry fan I don't really want to see them lose because he is gone.

Well, I'm concerned. Today's news is that it's a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. The good news is it's a sprain, not a tear. But that combined with the right foot problems he's already having................Oh Sh*t.

I honestly think the Warriors can: A. Finish off the Rockets without him (they've already proven that) and B. Get by either The Clippers (much more likely opponent) or The Trailblazers without Steph. Not that it will be easy, and it'll probably go seven, and be a WAR all the way.

After that, it'll REALLY get tough. Can they repeat as champions without Curry? I have serious doubts that they could. The Spurs pose an enormous obstacle. And if they did get past them..............Cleveland has the big three healthy now, not like last year, and Curry or no Curry, they are going to be REALLY tough.

Yeah it is a tough break for the Warriors. I have always thought that a potential matchup with the Clippers would be an absolute barn burner of a series and if they got past that a battle with most likely the Spurs would be tougher still. Real tall order if Curry is not healthy.

I am not going to lie and say I was rooting for the Warriors but I definitely did not want to see them potentially lose because of an injury.

Oh and agreed I can't imagine the Rockets really threatening them even without Curry.

Atlanta 110 Boston 83. Ouch. Is the visiting team going to make a showing at some point in this series?

I guess we'll have to put Isaiah Thomas' superstar status on hold: 7 points, 3-12 from the floor. Not exactly a performance reminiscent of any Celtic greats.

True. Problem is he's the only real scorer the Celts have (team's second leading scorer is Avery Bradley who is injured) and the Hawks focused their defense on stopping him...they were able to shut him down and no one else stepped up to fill the gap.

C's now need to win 2 in a row, home and away...not impossible but assuming they get it done at home that away game will be a test for sure.

Warriors 114, Rockets 81

The Warriors sent a BIG message to the rest of the NBA last night: If you think it's gonna be easy to take us down without Steph Curry..............better think twice. Klay Thompson, Shaun Livingston and Draymond Green were all spectacular.

James Harden was James Harden: 35 points on 12 of 23 shooting. The rest of the Rockets? A most shocking 19 of 73. Do the math..........that's 26%. Jason Terry predicted a Houston win the night before. He was 0-7 from the field and did not score. Dwight Howard had 21 rebounds but was 3-13 from the field for 8 points.

In other words...........Warriors defense was just a bit scary.

Can Boston turn this into a 7 game series tonight?

Yeah, I'd say the dubs are still the faves to win it all.

Can Boston turn this into a 7 game series tonight?

Only if someone other than Thomas can figure out how to put the ball in the ring (or hoop or basket or whatever you call it).

This has been an incredibly one sided series even with Curry out almost the entire series. The one loss should have been a Warriors win as well. Would the Bulls of old have been winning playoff games by 30 points without Michael Jordan playing? My guess is no.

I hadn't thought of that angle.............great point.

From this morning's San Jose Mercury News:

Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff was left calling the Warriors "the best team in the history of basketball" and said, without Curry, they are still one of the two best teams in the Western Conference.

"Obviously Steph is a great player, but their depth is something that we haven't seen in a long time," Bickerstaff said. "Not only is it depth, but depth of skill."

STUNG BY AN OVERTIME CURRY FLURRY

SUPERMAN IS BACK

PORTLAND YOU ARE AS GOOD AS DEAD

Curry MVP again as of today...........first unanimous vote in NBA history.

Gotta admit though............that Damian Lillard is one HELL of a ballplayer. And his supporting cast ain't bad, either. Think of where Portland might be if they hadn't lost LaMarcus Aldridge. Even so, they look like an up and coming NBA force.

Monday night proved that Curry, Thompson and Green are not the only ELITE players on the court in this series. If you didn't notice, when OKC turned the game around in the third quarter, Russell Westbrook had 19 of their last 23 points. That Kevin Durant dude ain't bad either.

We could be in for a classic. But the Warriors better be themselves tonight. My feeling is that they will be.

So is this the official NBA thread now? I guess it is until someone knocks off the dubs.

No big surprises in NBA draft lottery last night. That said, this pic may need a caption. 😮

Tim Duncan announces retirement
2 of the greats to ever play, Kobe and Tim
KG & Paul Pierce should follow suit -- probly the greatest single-class HOF induction ever in any sport

Looks like the Celts & Jared Sullinger are parting ways -- unsure about that.........

to facilitate his triangle offense, in addition to Derrick Rose, Phil Jackson is bringing in Joaquim Noah, giving NYK a real da Bulls look --
Jackson runs the show from upstairs, Melo runs it on the floor -- hopefully Hornacek knows how dysfunctional a coach he'll be

gosh -- after 2 years outta the game & back fusion surgery, the Birdman is getting big $ to return to Cleveland -- who's next, Greg Oden
