Do any of these candidates represent a change in thinking in Congress?

is the role of President the problem in our country or the role of Congress? are we to blame? the electorate? local and statewide political machines?

"Thinking in Congress". Good one!

Congress spends too much time politicking - making rhetorical speeches and sounding good, but not getting things done. They can all tell you what is wrong, but the issue is, what are they going to do about it?
During the recent Republican debate it was mentioned that they all understand how Washington works, so they are not going to vote against certain bills because later on they will not get the votes they need from their fellow Congressmen for other things.
Trump was asked specifically how he would deport 11,000 people her day if he was going to send all the illegals back to Mexico. What are the mechanisms and logistics, and he did not specifically answer HOW he would do that. Well I have an idea, let veterans and retirees help out give them tax breaks of small stipends. In fact anyone who would like to see them deported could volunteer to help with the effort and let the Army Corps of Engineers organize the ranks, so just like in a disaster situation, certain people perform certain functions. There is enough people power in this country to get it done IF we wanted to. Carly Fiorina points out that we have been debating about the border for 25 years. A wall could have been build in that time, but nothing was done.
That is the problem they don't get things done. Whether it is the President who vetoes or refuses to sign legislation, or the Congress who disagree, the problems remain. And once again in October, we will face the government shutdown UNLESS Congress agrees to fund Planned Parenthood, the President put that caveat on there.
One issue should have nothing to do with the other one, but that is how Washington works.
Funding the selling of baby parts just to keep the govt. going so people do not lose their jobs. How obscene is that?
