“This is exactly why Trump won”, says every Trump supporter in unison, after learning DeNiro cursed out the President on stage at the Tony’s. One man in a red MAGA hat states, “People wonder why we voted for Trump. Well, people like DeNiro are the reason. Liberals want to condemn us for our beliefs so this is how we fight back!” When asked why his vote wasn’t about policy that will benefit the country, he replied, “Huh? Whaddya mean?”

The aluminum imports are not in any way Canada’s fault or something that needs to be addressed. All countries depend on each other for their mutual defense. To say that it is a national security risk because we import it from Canada is short sighted. Canada is our ally, or it was until the other day. Their is no country that is all that self sufficient that they can provide 100% of their defense. Western Europe imports almost all of its oil, but somehow they manage. BTW, do you know that we have a trade surplus of about $8 billion with Canada?

If we are going to attack our proven allies and align with autocratic leaders who only serve their own self interests, trade will be the least of our problems.

Many differing opinions. You have yours, I have mine. No it is not Canada's fault that they can gain an advantage under current trade law. Independence and self reliance is a worthy goal, especially when it comes to military supply chains and readiness. Again, you have your opinion, and that of others may differ. The trade numbers vary depending what you are looknig at. To reiterate, I personally would give preferencial treatment to Canada, but that does not mean that I would favor their exporters at the expense or our industrial base. Canada is a great friend and I hope for continued good will between our countries. Friends have disagreements, and again, I take exception to the language this administration is using, not the policy. Your milage may vary. Who is right? Who is wrong? There is no telling. I am glad the conversation is being had.

If we're going to war with Canada, then how about we shut down the Keystone Pipeline?

Smerconish was all over this topic on his radio show. It’s been all over this site too. Care to address people who casted their vote for these reasons?

So yeah; denigrating conservatives makes them act a certain way, as they truly are better than everyone else and are not to be questioned.

Fixed that for you.

I'm really curious, what policies are the left promoting that will help the country?

Common sense gun control so our children will stop being murdered in school.

Yeah, gun control has really worked well in Chicago - just ask the over 200 people already shot this year. With 300+ million guns in the country, banning any type is a waste of time. Real common sense would be installing metal detectors, limiting entrances, and having a potential armed response. Its worked for the airlines. Are our kids less important than airline passengers?

If everybody was armed there would be conflicts and shootings for a little while, then the crooks and criminals would realize if they start their nonsense, they will most likely be shot, and crime would decrease. They do not get their guns legally, so telling law abiding people to not have a gun does not stop the crimes it just stops their ability to fight back when they are accosted.
