Not to call you out but another curious question; if you think Michigan is going to win, did you bet on them getting seven? 😉

I wish! My favorite and most exciting bets are money lining underdogs to win straight up, especially finding ones getting a TD or more. I would've loved some of that action!! But I do not have any online accounts and don't do any early betting.

On another Big Ten note, after the Urban Meyer thing, now we have the story at Maryland unfolding. Just wow. To think that some of the coaching practices may've caused one of the players death...wow. Not to take the focus off of the seriousness there, Maryland over 5.5 was one of my most favorite win total plays. Since I do not play anything early, probably 2 weeks out from getting those in yet, with this coming to light and everything that comes with a situation like this it makes me reconsider playing that one.

Yeah and apparently a few of his staff were part of it. Didn't that kind of happen several years ago with Craig James' kid I want to say with Mike Leach?

I have a buddy (young guy) who likes to bet. He'll purchase an extra half point on a game. Say, take it from 7 to 7.5 or the other way if you want the underdog. Probably wouldn't make sense for a baseball game but it could make sense for a football game.

There are only 4 people in our pick'em league so far. Come on, I know you all love college football more than that! There is a mobile app this year for it too.

Yup, you're in.

If you have any questions once the picks come up for week 1 let us know. One thing that has been confusing before is some of the games on there might be a game like Texas A&M against Northwestern State. NW St is a IAA/FCS team and yahoo does not post point spreads for those matchups so it will just say 'off' where the spread would normally be. That just means you pick the straight up winner.

We are dropping everyone's worst week, so don't worry if you have a bad week or forget to get the games in. You get a mulligan.

So 5 of us now. Lots of past players need to sign up yet. 2.5 weeks away til first full weekend starts!

It will be more of a finding time to do it problem than an internet access problem....... 😛

Pretty sure I'm out too. Both local sports accountants have gone to handling things online through a website offshore. Not sure I'm at all interested in doing that. So, likely won't take the time to make picks all through the season.

But this way, there will be a new champ this year. Cool

Yes, it starts today. Duquesne and UMass is about to kick! Never been so excited for such an obscure game. College football is back!

Our pick'em league is still missing some past players. 7 people signed up, glad to see Fast43 back! 5 Friday 8/31 games are on the pick list. Step right up players!

It’s gonna be fun. I haven’t even looked at who’s who this year. I’m sure that the usual suspects will be good but who’s the surprise team?

I went to UMass for a summer session many moons ago. Go Minutemen!!

Watching NC A&T vs Jacksonville State; it's on ESPN. What the hell!

Look for the Gators to make plenty of noise this season. They've got talent on both sides of the ball plus Dan Mullens is a great coach. He knows out to develop QBs.

GO BRUINS!

Big loss for Michigan with Tarik Black's injury. He missed 10 games with a right foot injury last year, now he injured his other foot in camp. Black flashed some promise last season and was going to be a big part of a potentially improved Michigan O this season.

Nice teasers on Saturday night. Wasn't expecting that kind of offensive output from Hawai'i and Wyoming was supposed to be terrible.

I just seen where Clemson is using the QB from last yr in the opener with Furman. That shouldn’t be much of a challenge game.

Just saw this thing on ESPN that lists the Heisman favorites and Alabama QB Tagovailoa is their favorite. I found that interesting.

Yeah that sucks. But they are going to have to rely on defense this season anyway so maybe they can fill in that hole.

Yes you are right, but that is what they did last year, rely on the defense and that got them 8-5 with loses to the other big 3 in the East.

No doubt that D will lead the way again, but improvement must be had on offense. An expanded role for a healthy Black was going to fill that hole. Not sure what other underwhelming upperclassman they have to utilize unless there is a freshman we don't know about.

Not like a single WR can totally change my opinion on a team's fortune's, but I went from optimistic they could win as many as 10 games, now the toss-up games, like ND week 1, have become more difficult I think without a talent like Black available.
