Pissed off they canceled that Boise - BC bowl game mid 1st qrt. Only game I cared about today. If they knew the threat of severe thunderstorms were possible this afternoon, why not move the kickoff time up? Can't imagine being a fan or family member who took time and spend money on that trip only to get one half of one quarter of a game. Plus BC was going to roll the blue smurfs.

Definitely agree looks like BC was going to pound them and I of course had them straight up and on the ML. Thems the breaks I guess.
I would be super po'd if I'd spent all the $ and effort to get there and have the game cancelled. Tough to be a senior player too, going out with merely a whisper in your last "scheduled game."
Hoping the Badgers pounce today!

Ended up taking all three dogs today with the points, on the money line and a three ream money line parlay. Duke doing me proud in the first game!
Latest Stanford Steve & The Bear podcast calls for those interested:
They disagree on ND/Clemson @ -13. SS on ND, the Bear on the Tigers. They agree on Mich St.
SS other picks : ND, Mich St + 2 1/2 and A&M -7.
Bear : Ark St -1 1/2, Clem -13, 'Bama -14, Cincy -5 1/2, Mich St +2 1/2 and Kentucky +6 1/2.
So far on last week's picks The Bear 0-2 with Iowa St and Purd yet to go. SS had BC with it being cancelled. Yet to play Iowa St, Vandy & Syra.
Go Badgers! Go Baylor!
As The Bear says, "the less you bet the more you lose when you win." Good luck wagerers!

I was following the BC game and I checked and it said delayed. Okay. Checked a bit later and it was cancelled. I think that's only happened a couple of times.
I read a few articles about it this morning and I kind of agree and disagree with what I read.
Concern for the players. Valid. But nothing I read said anything about the fans. Where do they go? No locker room for them.
Didn't want to wait until the evening to restart. Disagree with that. What if the game was supposed to start then anyway?
You feel bad for the kids that were involved. Especially the seniors. Strange way to end your career.
The kids had to miss Xmas with their families to be there. Not sure there is much to that.
And here's the one I rally found interesting: The game was "only" an exhibition so it really didn't matter. Fair enough. Would the decision been different if this game had playoff implications?

Agree on Wisconsin with you.
I think Michigan State will get pounded.
I also like Washington State.
I liked Michigan but with these guys dropping out like flies I'm not so sure. The line dropped a point.
And of course the West Virginia line flipped.
I get why these kids do this (bowing out of the bowls) but it sure makes it tough to make your picks before all of this stuff comes out after the lines have been established.

The Wisconsin line was 3.5. Locked into that in a pool. This morning it was 3. Checked 20 minutes ago and 2.5. Just looked and 1.
Gotta loved Vegas... 😉

Missed that Stanford Steve had Wisconsin on his last week picks. Want to give credit where it is due.
Crushing the local sports accountant today. He's got to be thinking "Ouch. Mommy!" 😉 Swept all kinds of combinations on the first two games. Since the three team money line parlay was still in play, I decided to guarantee some extra dough and put some on Vandy on the money line. Now, it's just a matter of how much more I'll gain in the last game.
Hoping the Cyclones continue the good results tomorrow. Got them early at +3 1/2, I see it dropped a point.
Also keeping in mind the old adage that gambling money knows no permanent home.

Who loaded up on Purdue getting 48? 😛

I put a little on Syracuse. They have been playing well lately and who knows how West Virginia will play without their QB.
Like Washington State later. They could have won The Pac 12. Offense is good but Iowa St is no pushover. We shall see.
Looking forward to the games this weekend. I still think Meeechigan can cover a touchdown against Florida.

Happy the ISU - WSt game was competitive last night. One of just a handful of competitive bowl games so far. I had WSt -2.5 though. Line had dropped to 1.5 and I missed it before it went back up unfortunately.
Purdue? LOL, I actually took them at a pick for the 2nd H. Pushed, should've lost. On the football message board I go to alot of people took Auburn over 10.5 2nd H. That was a bad beat!!
Then I had Cuse. Thursday I had Duke, Miami and Baylor.
Not real sure about today. I like Nevada. Think I might like Virginia and then I like both dogs to keep the games interesting in the big ones. I would rather take Michigan, I like that the line is dropping, hope it gets to 4 maybe.
I took the Gators +6 several days ago. I saw it was down to 4 1/2.
Cashed Iowa State big! Phew! Had 'em +3 1/2. Really didn't want to see overtime.
I see Clemson has dropped to -11 1/2, was -13 earlier this week. Heard that it's a 60/40 lean in Vegas right now with more on the Irish. Also heard that the last 11 times ND has been a double digit dog, they've won the game outright 10 times. So, I of course, am on the Tigers at -12. 😛
I just don't see how Oklahoma's "D" stops Bama. Am taking Bama team total over and the Tide too. I hate having to hope a Saban yeam does well.
"There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute force and ignorance"
The ability of West Virginia to consistently fritter away amazing seasons at the end is simply astounding.
The Notre Dame thing ends tonight.
No way OU can beat Bama. Just ain't no way.
I have a hard time valuing Clemson this year. There are games their offense is just off the charts. And there are games (most of them) that their D is outstanding. But then the O has some games like vs BC or Duke or Pitt. Or the D has a game like SCar.
I do think that a skilled team can move the ball passing on Clem. ND is good enough at that, not sure they can make a living at it though.
Wondering if Irish D might be good enough to limit Tigers?
I try and figure out ways I like the dog in these games most of the time. For me, it's no fun betting big favorites. I like the unexpected and having money on it that way.
Wondering if Irish D might be good enough to limit Tigers?
What IS it about ND that makes it so hard to take them seriously at this point?
But, hey, that's why they play the games!
Really, really looking forward to Monday afternoon.
Michigan State-Oregon is a tossup.
Mizzou-Oklahoma State...I can see Mizzou being a better team, but 9 points better? The Cowboys can sneak up on anyone.
Northwestern-Utah, such a fantastic matchup. The Holiday Bowl always delivers!
what's up Bhawk!?
I'll be pulling for the Sooners tonight just because I like upsets.
What is it about ND that makes them hard to take seriously? Well, I am betting them, so I guess I take them somewhat seriously. My 'wondering' if their D is good enough to match-up vs Clemson is a valid question since they have not faced anyone close to as good as Clemson I when the Tigers have it going.
This is really a great stretch of football here! I just hope the games are entertaining.
I can't wait until they Shit can Harbaugh. Bring back Brady Hoke.

Jesse Palmer said Notre Dame would make an example out of Clemson.
guess his expertise is a great as his NFL career, a big pile of dog shit
everyone wanted ND to win because hey it's ND. Wott a damn joke!!!
claims are being made that GA should have been in instead of ND well guess what they wouldn't have played Clemson as the 4 seed.
loved the UVA Cavs ass kicking the chickens 28-0
Muschump is bringing championships to Cootlumbia
Early line Alabama -6 1/2 with O/U 59 1/2.
"There is no mechanical problem so difficult that it cannot be solved by brute force and ignorance"
Some funny fan responses to MI's loss yesterday. So much for the "Revenge Tour".
Harbaugh must be hating life. What a failure. And I hate to say it, I've long been a big backer of his.
More uninteresting games Saturday. Nevada played some terrific red zone D to keep them in it and game had exciting final couple minutes before Pack won in OT. That was about the best I saw all day.
OU managed to cover despite getting down 28-0, of course Bama could've easily tacked one on late if they wanted.
ND's reputation certainly took another hit and just continues to build upon why nobody respects them nationally when it comes to competing with the best teams out there.
Bunch of games today. Not much of any opinion, have to wing it. I do like Oregon, a little. Thing about Oregon is their O is transitioning from the style we have become used to, to now Mario wants more power and physical O approach. MSU O has been putrid all year and Oregon does have a good front 7. I think the matchup to watch is Oregon's O vs MSU's D. Herbert isn't all he is cracked up to be, just a good college QB, nothing more or less. MSU is good enough on D still to cause them fits. Had to pick it I'd side with Ducks, but I don't know how confident I am.
Not sure what to make of Pitt. They have surprised me this year both good and bad. I think I might take Stanford just because I think they should have more of a home field advantage.
I have been all over Oregon since they announced the match ups but the line dropped to 1.5 which kind of makes me a tad leery. Michigan State has been a disappointment all year. Their over/under was nine wins this year which I thought was crazy. Rough year for football in the state of Meeechigan.
Rooting for Northwestern because they are a Big Ten team and well, I live here. 😉

Had Cincy early. Oops.
Did have a tidy sum on Michigan State at +2 1/2. I think by game time I saw the Spartans were favored by 1. Mostly took them because when Stanford Steve and The Bear both agree on the same game this year, they're like 85% good.
Took Okie State +9 1/2. This line puzzled me from the get go, just couldn't see how Mizzouri was a 7 point favorite, and, it continued to climb.
Have Northwestern, they just keep games close. Wish I'd have decided earlier at +7, got them @ +6.
Also have A&M fairly healthy $ wise. Just not that impressed from what I've seen all year from NC State.
Tomorrow, so far, I have Iowa/Miss State Under 43 (got that before it started dropping), Kentucky +6 1/2 and Texas +13. I really wonder if Georgia won't be deflated like Auburn was last year after losing out on the National Championship playoff. I think the Longhorns get after them.
Hoping LSU drops to seven or below. I think Central Florida's streak comes to an abrupt halt. Haven't definitely decided on LSU yet but I'm not taking CFU at all.

I just knew Mizzou wasn’t nine points better than Oklahoma Sate.
That was the best quarter in the history of Northwestern football. 😮
That Michigan State / Oregon game may have been one of the most boring games ever.
At one point my wife looks at me and says "Why doesn't anyone score?".
She certainly had a point.

I said I was leery of that Michigan State line. Guess I was right. The Northwestern game was nice. And while I hate to admit it, I am rooting for Ohio State today. Just cuz of The Big Ten.
When does Nebraska play? 😉
