If I were Lincoln Riley, I'd have every single one if my players walk out tomorrow showing Horns Down. Grin

Oh, and, an 8-team playoff would be best. Grin

Eight teams would not shock me. I've heard the thought that six teams might be next. Who knows? Whatever way it goes, some teams will think they got screwed. I'm fine with four but I can see how adding games would be fun.

Of course there will be people that think it is too much on those young men. I honestly don't think that should be a determining factor. Some teams have over a month off between the end of the season and their bowl game right now.

And the students are off from class from about the same amount of time during the holidays anyways.

Go UGA! Roll the tide!

I started to take this but just couldn’t get there. If Bama sees a chance they will run up 100 pats but GA may be the one to stop it. Or at least keep it within 14. I’m still struggling with it.

Put some on Memphis +1, number dropped from +3. Just didn't think UCF could keep beating them twice every year.

Need Clemson for a really big day.

Go Tigers!

Wow, great games so far today.

I really thought Georgia had Alabama. Really took it to them the whole game. 4 & 11 fake punt? WT....

Looks like Oklahoma will get in now. Had Georgia won, I think the four in were
1) Clemson
2) Notre Dame
3) Georgia
4) Alabama

That would have been interesting, a first round Clemson/Alabama game. Moot now.

Memphis has "Virginia-itis." Virginia has lost like 15 times in a row to Virginia Tech with another ugly loss again this year. Memphis just can't seem to beat UCF. Had a 17 point lead in the regular season and lost and another 17 point lead today and lost. Hard to get those game out of the psyche.

GO CLEMSON! (Need to hopefully build the bankroll)

Also crazy, Drake a 51 1/2 point dog to Iowa State, loses by just three.

That screaming you heard...oh that was me. I had Pitt +17 first half. Yeah the INT with :29 left in the quarter when they should've been running it and going to the locker room down only 11.

Fun day yesterday. Thought Georgia had 'Bama. Was hoping Northwestern would give OSU a closer game.

Thankfully for me Central Florida came back and I actually won some $$$. I was scared going into the fourth quarter.

I took a flyer and figured Pitt could at least cover. That was a lot of points to lay but Clemson was able to do it. Pitt's offense kind of stunk.

I didn't see much Yesterday, as I had to work, but from what it did see, overall the play was a very high level and intense, sadly I was pulling for both the NW Wildcats and the Georgia Dawgs.........Peace........joe

The UCF comeback was pretty cool. Especially with all the Milton stuff and his Mom at the game. 25-0 last 2 years. Pretty impressive.

OU - Texas was good game. Wish Texas could've backdoored inside of throwing an INT at the 5 to end the game.

UAB - MTSU was a good game as well that had a tough ending for Raiders backers (12 men on field when UAB was about to punt the ball back to them with 1min left).

Alabama - Georgia was really great. No Bama hate here, tons of respect for them. Loved that Hurts was the hero. Can't remember Saban ever getting choked up after a game. I would've liked to see Georgia win just for something different. That fake punt....WTF! Kirby, just because you have the play doesn't mean you have to run the play. Bama was totally ready for it. Worst part about that game, Gary Danielson. I thought Vern was bad, Gary may be worse. I have to watch CBS games on mute even if I want to listen to it.

NW fought back hard in the 3rd qrt. Down 7-24 at the break Fitz had them still believing after halftime, they cut it to 21-24, but OSU just had too much of everything for Cats to hang for 4 qrts.

Fresno and Boise was pretty good low scoring weather game. Fresno blk'd a FG and an xpt that allowed the game to go to OT instead of a Boise regulation win. Fresno got the blue turf monkey off their back!

Speaking of missed kicks, while Pitt 1st H was the most painful beat of the weekend, Buffalo's loss was by far the most disappointing. Buffalo dominated for 2-1/2 qrts yet blew a 19 pt lead and lost by 1. Bulls have had horrendous PAT and FG issues this year. UB missed an xpt or had it blk'd (can't remember - both have happened alot this year) and then went for 2 (and failed) on another TD not because they needed to but because they had no faith in their kicking game. One of UB's other xpt bounced hard off the upright but in. How can one team go an entire year and have such poor kicking game? Those 2 missed PAT opportunities cost them as they lost by 1 so instead of winning or going to OT one of the best teams in the MAC this year goes home empty handed.

And as good of a story as UCF has been these past 2 years, I'm not sure anything is better than UAB football. The folded their program, Bill Clark stayed after 2014 and they indicated they would reintroduce it, he had a couple guys from their 2014 team still around for the 2016 season which went really well although they lost their bowl game. This year they won the CUSA championship! I think UAB is undefeated at home since they've come back. That is awesome!!

So who is the fourth team in? Don't like Ohio State but I think they should get in. Do I think they will? Nope. Oklahoma probably will, even given their defense. Georgia is crying to get in but I don't see a two loss team getting in. And I think they are arguably the best of the last teams.

My opinion.

Oklahoma. They lost a close game to a quality team and later beat that team for a conference title. Ohio State lost by 29 to an average team. 29.

Georgia had the opportunity to play their way in with a win, they lost, and used poor judgment along the way. If you let Georgia in you're basically saying two spots are reserved for the SEC. Plus, if they got in, you couldn't really seed Georgia higher than an unbeaten Notre Dame. Which would mean an immediate rematch with Alabama. That ain't happening.

OU will get in and with that porous defense get clobbered by Alabama. Clemson has enough to beat the Irish. Title game will again come down to Clemson v. Bama.

Pretty sure it was me when Clemson's second string offense punched in that last touchdown. 😉

Had Pitt pegged for no more than ten points (their team total was actually 13), just didn't know if Clemson would get enough. Eight yards passing for Pittsburgh? Eight.

Just imagine the lack of quality teams we would have in an 8 team playoff trying to pick more than 4?

100%, why would Georgia get into a playoff when they just lost to the team already in the playoff? At some point the results of actual games really do need to matter. It would be like, what is the point of even having the Alabama - Georgia SEC Title game if both teams get to advance? Same could be said for any league in that same position. Remember when some people wanted OSU and Michigan to rematch in 2006? No way, no how, would that be the right thing to do.

Which gives Oklahoma the advantage since they lost a close game on the final play to Texas and was able to avenge that loss in their conference championship game. As bad as their defense is, you have to pick a 4th team in this system so you take the best of the rest and OU, while not great to me at all, appears to be it.

Who you lose to and how you lose should certainly matter.

Ohio State, once you lose at Purdue, who struggled to get to .500 on the season by the way, you lose the opportunity to state your case among the greatest teams in the country. Same thing with the Iowa loss last year. Here is a message to Ohio State, stop having ugly loses to average Big Ten teams and maybe you will get your chance again.

If they went to an 8 game playoff they would have to get rid of the conference championship game. Take the regular season champs of the power 5 conferences and the best group of 6 team with two at large. Host the first round on the campus of the higher seed. That's the idea I've seen anyways. Of course you'd have to find a way to crown a regular season champion in the 14 team leagues.

I like the idea of dropping the conference title games, but exactly like you said...in a 14 team league when you play only 61-69% of your league during the season there leaves alot of unknowns with teams missing each other. I personally love how the Big Xll does it in the regular season (which is how everyone at some point used to do it), just have a smaller league and play everyone in the league and you don't need a conference title game.

But anyway, they aren't going backwards because expanding conferences means more revenue for the leagues and having a conference title game, you guessed it, means more money for the leagues.

There are so many changes and things and what ifs that people can go over, some might be realistic and some might not be at all.

The one that I prefer is separating P5 from G5 and doing a 4 team playoff from each of those teams. Yes somebody would still get left out of the respective playoffs, but that leaves it selective and keeps debate in play.

130 teams in FBS / IA major college football. In all reality, teams like Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Oklahoma are not comparable to UAB, Coastal Carolina, Ball State and Tulsa...so why are they classified together?

Have been perusing the early bowl lines.

Honestly, what will Georgia have to play for after missing the CFP? Let alone a double digit favorite.

I KIND of like Meeechinan -7.5 over Florida
REALLY like Oregon over Michigan State giving 2.5
I think Central Florida can cover 7.5 against LSU
And I REALLY REALLY like Ohio State giving 6 against Washington. I'd think the Bucknuts will play well for Meyer.

I'm sure I'll pick some others but those are the ones that stick out.

Glad to see him go. I hope if this really is a medical situation that he is okay.

Having said that, not to be negative but it wouldn't shock me if he coaches somewhere else again.
