This is a pretty good explanation of what is going on. There is no way to deny that over the last 150 years the earth is getting significantly warmer, especially over the last 35 years or so. That means the CLIMATE is CHANGING. You can argue all you want about whether or not man has impacted this, but climate change is occurring and is not a hoax. I agree with the previous poster that there is little anyone can do about it at this point, especially absent the cooperation of everyone on the planet. Predicting the short term effects of climate change are pretty difficult because it involves weather phenomena, but predicting long term effects are pretty straight forward.

No I don't. Science costs too much to ever be independent. However, we can be independent and look at things for ourselves.
I trust my own two eyes and common sense. Work in the environment a lot and have been really been aware of the climate shifting in a big way since the early-mid 1990's. Even the sunshine is different now, harsher and brighter. The Navajo in Arizona were talking about the changes when I was working on the reservation in the 1980's, but at that time I had zero clue what they were seeing. Put it all together, what I can see, with reports coming in from around the globe, and it spells out a big buildup to catastrophic change.
Just how I see it. Left wing, right wing, same old dirty bird, I couldn't care less what politicians are up to. They are all crooks, to a man.

Why shouldn't these climate experts be measured on accuracy? Probably because accurate predictions would lend themselves to credibility and give folks a reason they'd better pay attention. The trust placed in these individuals would be justified.
Lets say Dr. Meester purports himself to be an expert on the stock market. He has computer models that accurately forecast and predict rising stocks. His models crank out 29 stock symbols
that are forecasted to rise and make good investments. Unfortunately, three years later 27 of the 29 are in the red while the S&P 500 has risen.
In light of the dismal record, would you put enough trust in his computer models to invest in his stock picks, or would this signal there might be a problem?
