The kids get their trophy taken away because adults cheated.

Yes, very sad.

Jesse Jackson: Jackie Robinson West’s Punishment Is Inappropriate And Racist

4:02 PM 02/12/2015
Christian Datoc - Sports Editor

Little League Baseball vacated all of Chicago-area Jackie Robinson West’s wins from the 2014 Little League World Series tournament on Wednesday.

After investigating allegations that several players on JRW do not reside within the team’s district borders, LLB stripped the team of both it’s Great Lakes Regional and U.S. national titles. (RELATED: Jackie Robinson West Stripped Of 2014 U.S. Little League World Series Title Amid Cheating Allegations)

Despite the open and shut nature of the case, several of the team’s supporters — including Jesse Jackson and Michael Pfleger — stated at a Wednesday press conference that JRW’s punishment had nothing to do with any possible recruiting infractions and was born purely through…

RACISM!

According to Rev. Jackson, “this decision is untimely and inappropriate at this time. It should not take six months after a team has played a championship game to determine eligibility to play the game in the first place… Is this about boundaries or race?”

Rev. Pfleger’s comments expressed the same core message: “When you’re going over to voter registration and going to birth certificates and doing all this time of hunting and a witch hunt that’s been going on for the last number of months, I can’t help but wonder the question if the same thing would have been done with another team from another place, another race.”

While the team’s supporters made ample references to skin color, neither the Reverends nor the players’ parents mentioned Darold Butler, the team’s manager, or Michael Kelly, the league’s district administrator; both have been identified as the scandal’s masterminds and have been indefinitely suspended from all Little League activity.

Adults living vicariously through their kids have been ruining amateur sports since its inception.

This is not a black-white thing, either.

There is a major high school program in a suburb of my former hometown who has basically bled the inner-city programs of football talent. The school in question has become a major national high school football power over the past 15 years by employing all sorts of questionable tactics.

The 'burb where this school is located has a long strip of apartment villages. Coaches and boosters visit the inner city schools and offer parents low-rent apartments, which are usually admittedly a move up form many of the areas where their kids start off. In some cases, they even find ways to help with job placement for the parents. There have even been cases where players get "adopted" by relatives and friends living within the 'burb to get these players living within the schools jurisdiction.

There is evidence that the boosters (and coaches) have on more than one occasion even ventured beyond the state line to "recruit" (they hate it when you use this word) athletes.

Not a black-white thing at all. Among the most perturbed over this phenomena are head coaches at the inner-city (mostly African American) schools who are losing their star players to this football power.

If this Little League team is guilty of bringing in ringers from outside their jurisdiction, they should be found guilty. This is not fair to the players on any of the teams.

No but as a "black leader" there is much obama could to to help the black people.

He could start by telling them that the adults cheating was wrong and whitey had nothing to do with it.
Then obama should tell the black liberal establishment militants to shut the f*ck up as have many black preachers, community leaders and parents.

Cool

Or the steroid using baseball players setting bad examples. It's actually probably Coach Lombardi's fault, 'winning isn't everthing, winning is the only thing'. People took that and decided no matter how you do it, you gotta win.

If you read a Lombardi biography he actually comes across as a decent guy. He had his rules against players drinking in the hotel bar - but would send his assistants in ahead of him so as not to catch them
