By 2030, We Will Pass The Point Where We Can Stop Runaway Climate Change

Johan Rockström, PIK’s newly appointed co-director ― and one of the hothouse Earth report’s lead authors ― said the effect could be to create a future climate unlike any the planet has experienced for 50 million years.

2030 is practically seconds from now when considering the sheer enormity of a whole planet's climate change. This is the same as saying runaway climate change is already occurring. You can't slap an arbitrary start/cutoff date on inertia of this magnitude. At any rate,it isn't a productive warning even if this 2030 is correct, it is too late to worry about it, Sometimes you gotta run the yellow if you dont want to go thru the windshield slamming the brakes.
The climate is changing. Most likely a combo of natural cycle and human input, IMO. Whether it is human caused or not is irrelevant - fossil fuel use will continue. We have at least a century more of heavy fossil fuel consumption to go as the rest of the world catches up and gets their taste of the first world life that Europe and the US have enjoyed for the last century thanks to massive fossil fuel use.
This does not mean we should commit suicide and go back and choke ourselves to death with soot, lead, and toxic particulates - clean air and water are good goals.

There are people who want the ice in the arctic to melt. They want to open up the shipping lanes to transport oil and make money. Doesn't matter that the permafrost melting will screw up the atmosphere and cause big horrible storms for us to deal with, and will cause plagues and diseases from hundreds of years ago (for which there are no vaccines) to become air and water borne. It's all about the money.
We are entering a new ice age, that will begin to be felt by 2021 and by 2024 there will be no credible denial that it is occurring. I have videos on it.

The new ice age will stop the arctic melt, so no worries.

We've already passed the point of no return....Had we begun serious efforts at curbing carbon in the early 80's when scientists began sounding the alarm we may have had a chance. Thirty plus years later is probably too late. Fortunately life will adapt on some level but mankind, well, we may be doomed. But life will continue, just without humans. 😮

Today I found a message floating
In the sea from you to me
Wrote that when you could see it
You cried with fear, the Point was near
Was it you that said, "How long, how long
How long to the point of know return?
How long, how long to the point of know return?
Know return
