And now for something completely different

Cops: Woman killed for yelling out ex’s name during sex
Associated Press 7:58 a.m. EDT September 22, 2015
Sunrise, Fla. — Authorities say a Florida man who called 911 to say his girlfriend was having trouble breathing later admitted killing her.
Sunrise police told local news media that 24-year-old Fidel Lopez called 911 early Sunday.
Officers responding to the apartment said they found Lopez crying in the bathroom next to 31-year-old Maria Nemeth’s naked body.
Police say Lopez initially told investigators that the couple had been having sex when Nemeth went into the bathroom, vomited and collapsed.
After further questioning, Lopez revealed that he became enraged with Nemeth when she called out her ex-husband’s name during sex and he attacked and disemboweled her.

Homicides (not done by serial murderers or other disturbed people) occur for either:
Money (financial gain),
Jealousy/anger (the perpetrator thinking you have more than they do, or better quality things than they do).
Revenge. Crimes of passion fall under the revenge category.
That's why people get caught, just look at the motives and the people in the deceased's life, and then you can develop your prime suspect. Homicides are not usually random acts committed by people the dead person does not know.
