Would Warren ever do a country record?

Does he like country/honky tonk, or did he do those gigs in the old days to pay the bills and get exposure?
I would love to hear him do his take on some straight up country, like his take on *soul* or whatever you want to call the WHB (I don't think it's soul, but that is how a lot like to describe it).
Anyway, give him a Tele (I would love to hear that tone from him, just like I think his whb tone was quite cool, and so different from Mule) and let his emotive voice take it to some country, it'd be great. Covers or his own songs, either way I'd eat it up.
But, like I queried to start the post, he hasn't really harkened back to those country days ever, so maybe that's not his thing at all.

In fact, he was just in the studio with Railroad Earth for an upcoming album. http://www.jambands.com/news/2014/11/23/railroad-earth-are-in-the-studio-with-warren-haynes

Would Warren ever do a country record?
With his diverse interests, anything is possible.
Dickey Betts should revisit his country roots with another "Highway Call" type of recording.

Didn't he do some with David Allan Coe?

I have no doubt it would be unique

how bout his "Two of a kind, working on a full house" tune for Garth Brooks...
Warren can write a man-ballad with the best of them, of COURSE he can do a country record.

Warren would really shine doing an album in the Americana style

David Allan Coe w/ Warren Haynes - Cripple Creek / My Girl / Serve Somebody (Live on ACL 1984)

Warren is the original "Swiss-Army Guitarist". I'm sure that if he did a Country & Western album that he would either do original compositions or cover the bona-fide great artists. I think he would eschew all the preconceived and contrived stereotypes and cliches and forego the cowboy hat. I believe that his C&W album would be something that would make Hank Williams and both Merles (Haggard and Travis) very proud.

Let's just hope he doesn't do a Sinatra record, ala Bob... 🙁

I agree. Not country( could you imagine Warren doing "bro country"..nah!). Americana/folk would work. I thought he fit in real well when
playing with Levon and that style of music. It would have been
interesting to have seen a Haynes/Helm project. Steve Earle possibly.
Warren is very well respected with his peer in the music community that he probably
could coloborate with just about anyone.
Maybe take a break from the Mule again and do something like that, like just be the guitar
player in the band and not be the main focal point of writing, singing, band leader and etc.
Just blaze out on guitar for awhile.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
