Woodstock Pictures (***Additional Shots Added***)

I came across these within the last 24 hours while surfing the net. I have a lot more but didn't want to go too hog-wild. I think the first one of Janis is really special. Enjoy.
MAX YASGUR, owner of farm where Festival took place. I assume that's his wife with him.

Thanks a bunch. Keep them coming 😛 !

Nice!! Thank you very much, looking forward to the next bunch 🙂

Great pics - cool to know that Santana was seriously tripping during that photo. He said at one point while playing his guitar neck turned into an undulating snake.

I added 12 more pictures, mostly crowd shots. Had to get Max Yasgur in there because this Festival would never have happened without him. The owners of the original site backed out only a few weeks before the Festival, then Yasgur came through with an offer of his land.
I think the first photo, of Janis performing, is a special one. She was a sad, lonely woman but when she got onstage, she morphed into something passionate and powerful. Looking at that picture, you don't even have to hear her, her power and passion is right there for all to see. It's an amazing picture.

Yeah, I've heard the story about Carlos' Woodstock experience in an interview. He said that he took a sh*tload of mescaline about 8 hours before his scheduled performance slot, thinking he would be cool by then. He was tripping HARD. But of course Woodstock was a complete clusterf*ck, endless delays due to either the weather but mainly the extreme difficulties in just getting the performers in there (most know, they ended up using helicopters because all the roads were blocked with cars). So a promoter told Carlos, "You've got to go on now". Carlos said, "No WAY I can go on now!!" "Sorry man, it's now or never". Carlos said basically he said a little prayer to God to keep him in tune; he didn't know how he would ever keep it together. But if you've seen Soul Sacrifice in the film, he came through.

Love these pics and I'd give her a ride

Thanks Rob! Really nice stuff.
Hey Powrie... what you think she looks like now? I'm guessing if you saw her in the nude on the road today you are more likely to call 911 than give her a ride. 😛
But I get where you are coming from. I bet she didn't have to wait long to get picked up.
Ahhhh. Free love.

What you don't know is that her boyfriend is about to jump out that bag as soon as someone stops.
And he's butt naked too!

Thanks Rob! Really nice stuff.

There will never be a Festival like Woodstock again, either for the amazing lineup of talent or the true Peace/Love vibe that existed.

Thanks so much for posting these pics. Wanted so much to make it to Yasgur's Farm, but my parents didn't see it that way since I was only 16 then.

The picture of the woman in blue (16th down from the top)- That was in LIFE magazine, as well as a few other photos. I met the woman at the opening of the Bethel Woods museum, several years ago. On my old FLICKR.com page, I posted the photo I took of her pointing to her image. Here it is:

Unfortunately, I never asked what her name was. That will remain a mystery, but now you can see what she looked like just a few years ago.
