Woodstock Bands You Have Ever Seen

I read the Mountain thread and the mention of Woodstock and it got me thinking about the bands that played there I saw, obviously a long time later. So the ones I have seen are: Richie Havens. One of the most boring things I have ever attended. He sat on a stool by himself and talked most of the time. I want to say it was a bill with some incarnation of Jefferson Airplane in the 90s. I didn't know he was the first performer of the festival which I guess is kind of cool. Santana. Don't like him at all. I went because the Derek Trucks Band opened. I think that was the last time I got to see them. Mountain of course. They were great at this blues fest I saw outside of Detroit. Grateful Dead. I never saw Jerry but I've seen the various incarnations of them. I think I only saw Phil & Bob together twice. The Ratdog shows with the ABB several years ago were great btw. The Who. I saw Roger Daltry on a British Rock Opera tour which was awesome. He had a symphony in the first set. They did a few Zep songs. Unreal. Jefferson Airplane. I saw Jefferson Starship but it wasn't the same. I actually saw Mickey Thomas in a beer tent at a county fair. Felt bad for him. Johnny Winter. I saw him twice. The last time was at The Chicago Blues Festival and he played the main stage with James Cotton. Cotton couldn't sing at the time but it was still cool seeing these iconic legends playing together. Crosby Stills Nash and Young. Saw CSN once and I think by that time their vocals were kind of shot. Made it through one of the worst storms I ever experienced at a concert. We took cover in a parking garage. I have to give them credit. The show stopped but they came back out and finished it. Seen Neil a million times. Whatever he is doing at the moment I'll go see it. Even saw the Greendale thing at Radio City in New York. Who has everyone seen? 😀

Johnny Winter-many times

Paul Butterfield-also had the pleasure of hanging out with him at Kenny's Castaways in the Village until we closed the place down one night.Partied hard.

Mountain and Leslie on his own

John Fogerty-not CCR

Joe Cocker

10 Years After-also Alvin Lee on his own

Bert Sommer-Pretty sure I saw him in a Greenwich Village club many,many years ago,but I wouldn't 100% swear on it.

I forgot that the Paul Butterfield Blues Band was at Woodstock. The first show I attended was PBBB opening for Muddy Waters. What a show!
