From memory, The VanHalen Brothers were angry at Anthony for playing with Sammy Hagar after he split from Van Halen which was not a good breakup.
From what I read they wanted to make Anthony an employee and take away his equal partnership share. But that is from memory and may have that wrong.
Mark has been with Sammy ever since playing in all his different bands.
@bill_graham You are right. They wanted to demote Mark Anthony to side man status then when he began doing shows with Sammy he was fired. But I'm thinking Mark Anthony felt it was Eddie clearing space for his son to play in the band.
Then Eddie's health failed. Ed stated a couple of times his throat cancer came from putting his self made metal picks in his mouth while he did his tapping thing but one of the doctors involved said it was cigarette smoking.

no though EVH was done with michael wolfie was the one who mended the fence with DLR, got them back together, got his dad sober so they could go out and play with DLR as VH featuring 3 VH family members . EVH was pretty much done with the music industry at the time until his son wanted to play with his dad and uncle.
