Who is MIKE LADD aka Missing Link Audio and did he wind pickups for Duane?

Anybody know who this guy at Missing Link Audio is? Name is Mike Ladd. He claims that he wound pickups for Duane and that his guitar at Fillmore East had a set of Mikes pickups installed.
The thing is, I've NEVER heard this guys name. EVER. Not one single article or post by ANYONE mentions this guy's name. Never. Yet he constantly repeats this story about him having wound pickups for Hotlanta and for Duane to use at Fillmore East.
Who is this guy? Did he know Duane? Did he really wind pickups for him? If so, why is his name missing from the history of ABB? Absolutely NO ONE has ever spoken about this guy. You only hear this story from him. No one else.
So who is he? Did he actually wind pickups for Duane?

- It's possible he did the pickups. Ya might try old magazine article searches about Duane's gear... Like maybe Vintage Guitar?

Anybody ask Dickey about this? With Kim Payne now gone, I can't think of another source for clarification.

Doesn't answer yr question but might lead you to the answer

The description states "He had gone to high school and played with Greg and Duane Allman but couldn’t join them when they started the Allman Joys." I'm not sure how you would verify that but his name is mentioned on the old site https://blue.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=XForum&file=viewthread&tid=125875#pid2942416
As regards Hot Lanta I think the concensus follows this thread

You could try and find the spec of the 2003 Gibson Custom Shop Duane Allman Signature Hot Lanta and see what the set up is, I am sure Gibson faithfully copied it, including the pickups. Appreciate it's a point in time thing.

Never heard of him either. Unrelated, but as to his claim to be the "First Person" to start customized pickup rewinding, I suspect Larry Dimarzio might disagree. Lol. There is a great history on Dimarzio's website. It's listed as the history of the Super Distortion pickup, but it's really just a rambling story about guitar repairs and custom pickups, necks and guitar setups from 1960s NYC. Again unrelated, but I think anyone interested in this thread would find it to be a good read.

Interesting they turned off comments on Youtube. Sure makes it easier to make outlandish proclamations.
This is a good read. Seems Missing Link Audio has a sketchy reputation: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/did-duane-allman-have-custom-pickups-wound-by-mike-ladd.1119708/

Some dissing at Gear Page too. For the record I have a Hot Lanta overdrive, it’s ok.
Take with a grain of salt as always.

Someone at another forum asked Dickey like 30 years ago but he didn't know. I asked Alan Paul if he knew of Mike and even he said "no, but Willie Perkins might know. He's the only one left that actually might know."

@crosseyedcat a guy that worked at Gibson when they had Duane's guitar there to recreate it said it had 7.xxk pickups in it. So not what Mike supposedly wound for him.

I've asked this question at multiple forums at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a thread I made or participated in lol. It might be the one where they mention asking Dickey 30 years ago and looking at Duane's guitar at Gibson.
Edited: Yep. That appears to be it. I've seen that one and participated in it as well. I've seen most of the links posted here also. Believe me, I've been researching this ever since I saw the claim on his website in 2021 or 2022 lol. Wish I could get ahold of Willie Perkins, TBH.

According to Mike and his shop in Memphis in 1969, he went to Kalamazoo in 69 and toured the shop, then made a set of humbuckers for Jimmy Page when he got back to Memphis. I think that's supposed to be when he first got into it and likely his first set.
Just to be clear, I'm not questioning the quality of the stuff they sell or anything of that nature. Only whether the story is actually true. Believe me, I've had my eye on their Peacock humbuckers since the first time I saw them. Wish I had remembered them when I was pickup shopping. Ended up with a SD Seth Lover neck and 59 bridge in my Goldtop. The Seth Lover sounds incredible!
