They we're some glory days even though I made it only once to NYC in 2007.

When and for how many dates was the original run?

From this N.Y. Times article printed in 2009 it seems it was 1989?

"Since 1989 the Allman band has played at the Beacon 175 times — and Mr. Springer, 51, has been at every concert."

The first four ever Beacon shows took place in September of 1989.
However, you could say the first actual Beacon "run" and March Madness took place with ten shows starting on March 10, 1992.
The run was interrupted for the first time in 1995 when the band moved over to Radio City Music Hall for an uncomfortable mini run, and then subsequently by Gregg's health issues in 2008.
Their displacement to the United Place in 2010 was due to the booking of Cirque Du Soleil "Banana Shpeel" at the Beacon, a musical that despite locking up the theater actually never took place, leaving the venue vacant for the entire month of March.

Also, there were no Beacon shows in 1990, 1991 & 1993.

Yes. Great list. I believe I made it to 19 Beacon shows. I saw at least 1 every run between 1999-2009. In 2004, we did ABB Thursday, Van Morrison Saturday at the Apollo, and ABB Saturday. That was memorable.

A couple years I was a whirlwind in to NYC for a single night: 2000, 2001, 2009. The first year I was there all weekend but only went a single night.

I would have loved to have seen the ABB there 1992, 1994, but wasn't traveling to see shows at that point, just seeing their ATL summer shows.

The two shows I most regret missing are 3/21/05 shows (with significant Chuck that night) and the final show on 10/28/14.

The Brothers also played 7/27/11 as part of the Hep C fundraising concert, which included a very memorable Natalie Cole guest spot singing some of Whipping Post.

oh, the glory days of 1999 and 2000 when you could buy amazing seats at the presale and onsale. 3rd row center for $59 + smaller fees. some of the best times of my music life where there.
