IT IS BEING OFFERED ON THE BIG HOUSE SITE AND AMAZON. I ordered it on Amazon. and received a message saying its out of print but may be available in a few weeks.. has it been reprinted??? anyone know??

Try contacting Amazon and see what they say? I know that they have reprinted books that are no longer in print and now sell them.

I read Red Dog's book, it's entertaining and a quick read but take his tales/stories with a ton of salt as they're not all accurate or according to other members of the Allmans the events didn't happen the way he claimed.

I think it was also a significant factor in the band's dismissing Red Dog. Could be wrong; it wouldn't be the first time.

Whether it's accurate or not, I can understand how they would have felt betrayed.

I have read all the books published about the ABB over the years.
I found that the early history basically right but wrong in details.
Very little fact checking was done or attempted.
REDDOG's book got it right, it was not he said, she said , they said,
just stories about being there when it happened.

Had Red Dog done it correctly, with a proper editor, etc... this could have been a great history of the ABB. The book is disjointed, and dishes dirt I assume the band was not happy about. Many of the stories, because it is just a series of stories, no thread to follow, served no real purpose other than to sensationalize some of the low points of the band. Sex... Drugs... etc.. Are there some good stories, yes. If you want to read the definitive history of the band, I suggest reading Alan Paul's 'One Way Out".

If you had met Red Dog and knew the sound of his voice, you could hear him telling the stories in his narrative style as you read his book. Sex drugs and rock and roll are a big part of the ABB story. To love them is to love them, warts and all. But yes, Al Paul's book is well written and gets into a lot of the nooks and crannies of the deep ABB history.

He did it the way he wanted to. its a "book of tails" not a chronological history.
