Whats Robbie Krieger up to these days?

?

He still releases albums of new songs occasionally and goes out on tour once in a while.
He had a jazz group for a few years, with several former members of Frank Zappa's various bands, but he seems to have disbanded that group.
They were called "Robby Krieger's Jazz Kitchen" when I saw them live in 2012. I was one of only about 50 people that showed up for the gig. Great show!
I even got to meet Robby after the show. He seemed like a very humble, mellow, down to earth guy.
I also saw him in 2017 with his other group "The Robby Krieger Band" at a favorite small, local venue and managed to record some video of several songs that were played that evening.
Here's the playlist...

Saw the Robbie Krieger band a few times. They were pretty good; his son channeled the Lizard King. His son seemed like a spoiled brat/ass and they were having progressively hard time filling up even small venues. The music was damn good

His sit-in with the Mule for MYE and the Doors themed show was great!

Thanks for posting that link. That was an interesting read!

Great interview that resulted in me listening to some of the tracks Robbie discussed with Alan.

I saw them perform almost 2 years ago and the band was good and the music spot on. Robbie's son was bit much especially dropping f bombs. Hopefully for his and the band's sake, it's just a maturity issue.

From Alan Paul's article:
Remarkably, when Krieger joined the Doors in 1965 he was only 18 years old and had been playing guitar for just two years—electric guitar a mere six months.
Man that really blows me away. Only an extreme talent could pull that one off. I always thought (and still do) that Krieger sounded like a seasoned virtuoso in The Doors.

Spot on. I used to love seeing Ray & Robbie. I think out of any R & R death Ray's hit me the hardest. The Doors were my alltime favorite ban; he died of age and illness; and he truly seemed like a good decent man.
Unfortunately the road doesn't go on forever.
Despite the shortfalls I would see Robbie again if he tours more out east.

He could tour as "The Door".

Densmore performed at a benefit after Ray's death but has no interest in touring
