What cha listening to this morning?

At Fillmore East blaring in my office @ 7:15! either they get it or they don't! EAPFP!

Not sure I'll get time for it, but my tomorrow Powerball strategy (750 M this week, I think) is riding around playing original Fillmore East edition setlist, and stopping at a store and buying a 2 buck ticket every song break at a different store. I think it is a brilliant strategy!

Back where it all begins

Fillmore East right now but earlier this morning had Nassau Coliseum on. The show is 1973 but I think the CD came out in 2003.
Gregg's organ is up in the mix and his organ playing during Chuck's solo on Jessica is just stunning. Also on Elizabeth Reed Chuck, Gregg, Larmar Williams and Jaimoe really lock in together for about 5 minutes beginning with Chuck's solo. Dickey and Butch back off during this stretch with light rhythm playing. While Duane and Berry are missed, this is an example how later lineups also shine.

Happy 50th Anniversary to all you loyal lovers of great music!
As for me, I knew what would be on this morning when I went to bed last night......Don't Want You No More!
The first song on the first side of the first album. What an incredibly powerful way to introduce themselves.
Oh, I guess I'll just let the whole album play.
Have a great day, Ya'll!
