It’s another thing I don’t understand - why relatively modern albums, say since the advent of digital technology, need to be remastered - if familiar w/the original release of FPie musicmann, does the remaster make it sound antiquated/not that good

mayb remastered for compatibility to newer formats like mp3 & others I suppose

listening to Jimmy Smith’s Christmas CD

I often wonder how much remastering actually has to do with the format & sound and how much it has to do with remarketing an album.

As long as I'm in this thread, here's the debut, instrumental album from 1976, from a Swedish folk/prog/psych group I've been re-listening to...

To my ears the sound of a remastered disc is clearer, more upfront and I hear things I didnt hear from the original release. Also the remastered disc has a bonus of outtakes and early takes of all the songs and then some.

Nice nice nice - powerful stuff - lyrics, playing, everything - haven’t heard blues like that in quite some time - spooky Creepin-like vibe - thank you Mr Trout

love everything posted here, esp that Ragnarok album - as always, these unknown gems, esp ‘70s space music like that, stands up more than well today🤙🙏

It's been many years since I last worked on a production line in a factory but this song resonates with me all too well...
