It’s another thing I don’t understand - why relatively modern albums, say since the advent of digital technology, need to be remastered - if familiar w/the original release of FPie musicmann, does the remaster make it sound antiquated/not that good
mayb remastered for compatibility to newer formats like mp3 & others I suppose
listening to Jimmy Smith’s Christmas CD

I often wonder how much remastering actually has to do with the format & sound and how much it has to do with remarketing an album.
As long as I'm in this thread, here's the debut, instrumental album from 1976, from a Swedish folk/prog/psych group I've been re-listening to...
Justin Johnson playing "Ghost of the Mountain"...
David Gilmour
David Gilmour 1st solo release
Some Merry Christmas vibe!
The God Rats
Tasty Seconds
Joey Quinones solo...
And with Thee Sniseers...
Dude's got some talent!
Eric Clapton

Live at the Royal Albert hall

To my ears the sound of a remastered disc is clearer, more upfront and I hear things I didnt hear from the original release. Also the remastered disc has a bonus of outtakes and early takes of all the songs and then some.
