Weekend Morning Relaxing Music To Listen To
This morning started out with Buffalo Springfield. Any relaxing Neil Young is fine with me! And since I was listening to my iTunes, The Byrds came up next alphabetically. I hadn't listened to all of this and there were a handful of tunes I hadn't heard. I never knew they did "Jesus is Just Alright" in 1969. I always thought The Doobies version was the original. Apparently, they both covered it. Learn something new every day, right?

@lee It wasn't real late. Early evening. Dickey had on a short sleeve shirt which was white with some strips or something of a different color. Maybe dark blue. I can't remember this morning.
BTW Gregg Allman once talked about the resonator guitar Duane Allman played on Little Martha on Eat A Peach and he said after Duane died, Gregg gave the guitar to Dickey and that is it Dickey is holding on his album Highway Call.
The mellow mellotron sounds of the Moody Blues (EGBDFavor, TOCCChildren, 7th Sojourn) - chill brilliance, & RIP, Mike Pinder
If you can handle one more old timey slide trombone, here's Bill Harris reaching back and putting it on but still playing so fantastic and beautiful as is tenorman Ben Webster with him. Of all the older musicians who lined up to enlist that little old hitmaker Duane Allman to play on their records and revive their careers, I think that last of the swing era rockers, Ben Webster and Duane missing out on each other must have been posterity's great lose that might have rivalled the D and D landmark, though Ben may have had a stroke keeping up with old Duane.
This morning's selection is Emmylou Harris. I love her voice, very relaxing. For some reason, I have never had the chance to see her live.

you may know Tiny Bradshaw - a great comp of his is my go-to for this awesome dynamic big band/rock & roll/jump blues/Stomping at the Savoy-type music🎼digging this more mellow side of it too
🤙good ol Sunday morning
I haven't listened to Sea Level in years so I thought I would whip them out today. I know why it has been so long since I gave them a spin. As much as I love Chuck, I just don't get Sea Level.

Norah Jones. She has such a sweet "piano bar" kind of voice that is very relaxing. She just came through town with Mavis Staples. I should have gone. Some may recall a tribute show held in Chicago several years ago. Gregg played as well as a lot of other notables like Bonnie Raitt, Jeff Tweedy, Emmylou, and others. I don't know how I missed seeing that one.

Sam Cooke. One of the greatest voices of all time. Makes me think of the movie "Animal House" though.

Posted by: @tenorsfanTwo wonderful tracks there, @robertdee. So great you keep that earlier great music alive. Let's hope there's a robertdee in fifty years to teach all those whippersnappers about an amazing guitar player named Duane Allman.
