Agreed. Doesn't he preface the song by saying he is "honored" to play it?

I hadn't noticed that BB. I will check it. Seems like an odd thing to say about a song you wrote. Sure is an honor to listen to it!!

I will now throw in my obligatory OCD request that someone at Sony release the Kind of Bird from 12/29/91 Macon, GA that was professionally recorded for the Evening With Set 1 album. It is perfect and it NEEDS to be released.

Having said that, this is something else altogether and is utterly fantastic. What a great album this is.

What a killer version of Kind of Bird. Warren sure does smoke. That solo sure channels Elizabeth Reed. Warren does mention on the version on Disc one that its an honor to play this song with Scofield and the Dr.

Jorgen Carlsson's cutting, heavy sound is the first thing that caught my ear on these tracks.

Absolutely. Woody makes me laugh sometimes he is such a monster. It is a spectacular release in my mind with highlight after highlight. As Warren said Sco pushes him into a jazzier realm and he pushes Sco into a bluesier one.

I'm really embarrassed. I downloaded the tracks on itunes, and didn't check the chronology. No wonder the bottom end grabbed my attention right of the bat.

No need to be embarrassed. This is just a reminder of just how bad Woody was! Believe me the 1st thing that captured my attention is the same thing as yours.

I'm listening again...the sound quality and production of this album is so excellent.

Woody is in the pocket...his groove leads the way...he and Matt are perfect together.

What a great great album...Sco and Warren are an incredible duo!

Very excited about this!
