Warren with Railroad Earth Record Release Show, Town Hall, NY 7/23/15
I went to the CD release show last night, having only listened casually to parts of the live stream of the album, and therefore not knowing what to expect.
The man is a master, no matter what genre he attacks. Great interplay between the musicians, especially Tim Carbone. I especially enjoyed Warren's lighter touch in this show, compared to his playing in the ABB and Mule. He played some acoustic, but mostly electric, lots of slide.
I hope someone will post some videos, and let them speak louder than my words.
I have been avoiding buying tickets to show scheduled five an six months down the road. This one came up quick, and I jumped on it. Glad I did. Warren will be touring with this music, catch one of the shows if you can.

Good to hear, I haven't heard much of the album yet but definitely plan on catching the tour.
I was there last night as well and agree with your assesment. Lots of tasty guitar playing that shows his diversity. I'm looking forward to seeing him next week at Gathering of the Vines.
With no ABB and no dTb, I pretty much stopped going to shows.
I think I'm gonna try to see a few off this tour though....
Thanks for your insights. Purchased Orlando tickets yesterday, and your post got me fired up. Haven't purchased the album yet, though. Might have to do that today for a focused listen tonight.

Sounds great...everything Warren touches turns to gold...the man is incredible...
Saw them at the free at noon show @ WXPN. Wasn't sure how this would play, but again how incredible of a musician Warren is. This music sings to your soul.

Warren Haynes & Railroad Earth
Ashes and Dust Record Release Show
Town Hall
NY, NY
July 23, 2015
This was the Record release party for the new CD by Warren Haynes and Railroad Earth "Ashes to Dust". Warren called it a record, not a CD- it that's what Warren wants, it's good enough for me.
I find Warren Haynes to be a fearless and amazing musician... think of some of the projects he has been involved with:
- The Allman Brothers Band
- Gov't Mule
- Gov't Mule With John Scofield
- The Warren Haynes Band
- The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration
These are in addition to touring with the Dead and the countless one-off Mule theme shows ranging from the Doors to Dark Side of the Mule (Pink Floyd).
This is his latest fling at something new. What's next?

Alan, you left out the Phil Lesh Quintet!!! The very best of the Phil & Friends line ups. An amazing and very magical chemistry between those five musicians.

Don't forget his forays into Reggae.
Aaaaaarrrghh! Who mentioned the Reggae?!!!!
What sixty8 said. Love PLQ and their CD There And Back.
Sounds good.
Thanks for your efforts Alan, they are greatly appreciated.

LOL, I am sure there are others as well. Not many guitar players challenge themselves this way, by playing such a variety of genres... and he makes it look easy.
Thank you so much Alan for the link, I love the new Warren album (at least what I've heard so far). And of course, the new songs sound great in a live setting.
I'm listening to the show now. Good quality audience recording. My tracks came down in a different order. I've got to clean it up, but it gives me a chance to listen.
I really like the sound of this project. It is both slick and organic.
