This was so good --- even the artists I normally would not care about.

Wow!

Major props to Warren for pulling this off --- sounds like equal kudos to Dave Matthews.

The fact that they could effectively expand Xmas Jam into something so much more impactful in such a short period of time is extraordinary.

Oh, and how about Warren & Derek playing NEW live music together?

Phenomenal

Did everyone else not watch this? --- surprised folks here aren't talking about it

@islalala I listened to a bit of it. Very cool Warren was able to pull this off for a great cause, nice to see him sharing the stage with Derek again.

From a music stand point, Derek and Susan are the only real draw for me so it didn't keep my interest, though it's cool to see them sit in with Goose.

Living here in Avery County in Western North Carolina in the heart of the Hurricane Helene devastation, this benefit show was much appreciated. Back story, I interviewed Warren (for the 7th time) on that Thursday on the afternoon of Day 2 of the first storm, and the day before Helene hit on Friday morning. Even at that time, tornados had hit Warren's home area of WNC, and I told him that 20 inches of rain was supposedly coming. But...none of us here thought that we'd see the incredible destruction that would happen. Basically a 100-mile wide bomb went off. I soon knew Warren was putting something together. I took some damage and had a big time close call with a big blown down pine tree, but I lucked out when it missed by just feet. Meanwhile, many friends who have either lost everything or their house or business, wiped out, and more. You can read my ground level, real-time articles on the insanity that happened here - https://www.wataugademocrat.com/search/?tncms_csrf_token=f5c0c0e96d7bdf774139a2ce6527e1d6f850d9d78a0e9eea91d7bb22dfc8565a.2eb232c0beef0b3d3bc0&f=html&t=article%2Ccollection%2Cvideo%2Cyoutube&sd=desc&l=25&nsa=eedition&q=%22Derek+Halsey%22+Storm++Helene

This disaster is not over yet, but still, the coming together of my community and Mountain Folks as a whole has been incredible. No one asked for your political affiliation when pulling you out of the mud, no one asked what your denomination was before feeding you. The right-leaning Samaritan's Purse and the progressive-leaning World Central Kitchen both did and do incredible work. The folks in the Cajun navy on horse back and the folks on mules from the Mule Tracker Ranch and the coal miners from my native home state of West Virginia who came here and fixed the worst hit road in Bat Cave in less than a week - all did great work, as did the 50-vehicle farm convoys that came in from Ohio and Kentucky. The music community has stepped up, as I have been to at least 12 to 15 benefit concerts and played in four of them, and along with Warren's show and Toad The Wet Sprocket's benefit and the 24 million dollars raised by local boys Luke Combs and Eric Church, it has all blown my mind. I edited a special video of Luke Combs' sold out stadium benefit concert in Charlotte and did not add a single song by Luke or Eric except for Wesko's song "Helene," leaving just Combs telling folks exactly why Western North Carolina is so special and the video struck a nerve with 700,000-plus views on Facebook and 140,000 views Youtube -

Now is the time to build and get the storm displaced folks in the heated areas as 19 degrees comes our way this weekend,...this photo I took a couple of daysago downin Plumtree.

Greetings,

I very much enjoyed this and hope it benefited the cause.  The Whipping post was great.  Turned me onto the band Goose as well.  Brings back memories of Moogis.

Happy Holidays all,
