It's our 18th Pre-Jam, in advance of Warren's 28th annual fundraiser for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. What began as a live Studio B session and a great opportunity for various artists to meet and jam with each other for the first time, has now become a tradition with a vibe all its own, and WNCW is honored to be able to broadcast it live for you in its entirety (with cool holiday tunes during set breaks to help get you into the Christmas spirit, 'NCW-style.) Who else will be there? Alison Krauss & Jamey Johnson? Bob Weir? A big tribute to The Band's "Last Waltz"? Tune in to find out!

So damn cool to live here in the western North Carolina Mountains and be able to pick up WNCW live on three different spots on the FM dial as I travel the High Country going from one Holiday party to another..........you literally turn a corner in Banner Elk and switch from 88.7 to 92.9.....and further down in Wilkesboro it is 90.6........and the wild animals have been running on the Parkway the last few nights as they know this brisk-ass cold front is coming..........Pre Jam begins at 6 p.m. but will go to at least 10- 11 p.m. and probably later....... yeah man!!

That was my problem with Marcus King when I saw him at last year's pre jam. Clearly a talented player but subtlety is not his strong suit. Too much of a good thing.
